Hao-Tong Li Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections
Hao-Tong Li brings international experience at a discount
With multiple international victories including two European Tour wins, Hao-Tong Li is a golfer worthy of roster consideration this week. Currently priced at or near minimum on all DFS sites, Li stands out as a low owned option with upside for the year's second WGC. Playing in his fourteenth WGC event Li has posted five top 25 or better finishes, highlighted by four consecutive top 25 or better showings. For those who are not quite sold on Li in terms of adding him to your full week roster builds, you could look to grab exposure via showdown slates. Li posted 3 rounds of 40 or better in showdown scoring at last year's WGC event. His four-round average of 39.4 ranked Li inside the top 13 in terms of showdown scoring at last year's WGC FedEx St. Jude.
Pushing The Chips All In
I’m going all in here. Li has been in dynamic form overseas with finishes of 12th and 2nd in his last two starts on the European Tour, and we have seen him pop in big time events before. Those two European Tour performances were in some stronger field events, and remember that he finished 3rd at the Open Championship back in 2017. There’s pedigree and upside with Li. He’s a top talent that will almost undoubtedly go under-owned since we haven’t seen him stateside in a long time. Don’t be surprised if he is in the mix here, and my bold call in our “Expert Survey” is that Li breaks through with a big victory in a WGC event.
Home Cooking in China
Playing in China, Li immediately jumps onto the radar. His first three career PGA TOUR starts came at this event with the highlight being a T7 back in 2015. He was T3 after 54 holes that week but had no idea what he was getting himself into on Sunday. This time around, he is now well-seasoned and arrives on the heels of back-to-back top 10s on the European Tour. You know he circles this event every year on the calendar as one he wants to peak at. In addition to his T7 at the 2016 HSBC, he also finished solo 3rd at the 2017 Open Championship. Has all the tools to contend against the best in the world. High upside GPP option.
