Henry Ruggs Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections

WR Henry Ruggs officially released by Las Vegas Raiders

Henry Ruggs has officially been released by the Las Vegas Raiders. The Raiders are currently down to three wide receivers on their active roster Hunter Renfrow, Bryan Edwards, and Zay Jones with Darren Waller also playing a critical role in the passing game. All of these players are likely to see an increase in targets with Waller and Renfrow continuing to dominate the majority of the targets. Edwards will likely be used as the main deep threat for the time-being. The Raiders will either be forced to elevate receivers from their practice squad (most likely Javon Wims and/or Dillon Stoner) or look to waivers to fill the extra spots on their roster (the recently released DeSean Jackson seems as though he could be a good fit).

LV WR Henry Ruggs and WR Bryan Edwards practice fully Thursday

Both Vegas WRs were limited yesterday, but were upgraded to full practices ahead of their game against the Philadelphia Eagles. Barring an unexpected setback, Ruggs and Edwards shoul be good to play outside, while Hunter Renfrow and Darren Waller man the middle portion of the field.

Henry Ruggs placed on reserve/COVID-19 list, officially ruled out for Thursday night

Henry Ruggs placed on reserve/COVID-19 list, officially ruled out for Thursday night. Nelson Agholor has established as Derek Carr's top weapon in the receiver room with Darren Waller dominating targets at tight end, but we could see more of Bryan Edwards and Zay Jones on the outside with Ruggs on the shelf for at least a game. Hunter Renfrow could see a slight uptick in targets.

Bryan Edwards inactive Sunday

Bryan Edwards is inactive Sunday, which will be his fourth straight game missed. Nelson Agholor and the rest of the Raiders' WRs get a slight boost as long as Edwards is out.

Henry Ruggs, Rico Gafford active Week 5

Both Ruggs and Gafford are officially active for the Raiders Sunday. Ruggs will work as a top WR option for the Raiders alongside Nelson Agholor and Hunter Renfrow, while Gafford is at the bottom of the depth chart and unlikely to get work.

Bryan Edwards (foot) ruled out for Sunday; Henry Ruggs III (knee) questionable

As expected, Edwards has officially been ruled out of Sunday's Week 5 matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs and will miss another game due to a foot injury, while Ruggs is listed as questionable on the Raiders' injury report but is expected to play after practicing in full each of the last two days. Ruggs hasn't been fully healthy since Week 1 when he accumulated five targets from quarterback Derek Carr en route to a 3-55-0 stat line, so it's tough to gauge exactly how involved he'll be in this offense with Josh Jacobs, Darren Waller, and Hunter Renfrow dominating a tremendous amount of the opportunity share through the first four weeks of the season. However, Ruggs' presence on the field should be enough to force Nelson Agholor and Zay Jones into a timeshare at the other outside wide receiver position with Edwards still sidelined.

Henry Ruggs, Rico Gafford inactive Sunday

Both Ruggs and Gafford are inactive Sunday, as expected given their doubtful injury designations. Hunter Renfrow look like an appealing option this week as the top WR for the Raiders.

Henry Ruggs III (hamstring) unlikely to play Sunday; Bryan Edwards (ankle) ruled out

Ruggs is still dealing with a hamstring injury, and according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, he is a "longshot" to play in Sunday's Week 4 matchup against the Buffalo Bills, while Edwards was previously ruled out and will be inactive because of an ankle injury. The Raiders are hoping Ruggs is able to return in Week 5, but Edwards' injury could keep him sidelined for multiple games and is considered week-to-week, With Ruggs and Edwards two of the team leaders in snaps and routes at the wide receiver position through three weeks, there will certainly be a plethora of opportunity for Nelson Agholor and Zay Jones, who should be elevated to the starting wideouts alongside Hunter Renfrow in three-receiver sets. However, Renfrow and Darren Waller are still the heavy favorites to lead Las Vegas in target market share while their promising rookies are sidelined with their respective ailments.

Henry Ruggs III (hamstring) won't play Sunday

After being limited in Thursday's practice, Ruggs didn't participate in any individual or team drills on Friday and has officially been ruled out of Sunday's Week 3 matchup against the New England Patriots due to a hamstring injury. Ruggs and the entire Raiders wide receiving corps has amassed a laughable percentage of the target market share through two games as the offense has definitively run through Darren Waller and Josh Jacobs, both of whom are listed as questionable on the official injury report heading into this weekend's contest. Assuming they're both cleared to play, there likely won't be much extra target opportunity left for Bryan Edwards and Nelson Agholor to absorb, and the absence of Ruggs' speed may bog down the Las Vegas offense even more with the lack of a credible deep threat at wide receiver.

Henry Ruggs III (knee) officially active for Monday Night Football

Ruggs was able to return to practice on Saturday and is now officially active for Monday night’s Week 2 matchup against the New Orleans Saints despite battling a knee injury that kept him limited the entire week. There have been no reports of a potential snap count for Ruggs, and he would have easily led the Raiders’ wide receiver corps in routes run in Week 1 if he wasn’t forced to exit briefly with the aforementioned knee injury. He’ll still be a viable option in daily fantasy formats for tonight’s single-game slate, especially if Las Vegas is forced into a more pass-heavy game script, and Ruggs is able to maintain a similar 17.9% target share that he amassed in last Sunday’s win over the Carolina Panthers.
