Hollis Thompson Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections

Jordan Crawford has signed a 10-day contract with the Pelicans; available to debut tonight

Jordan Crawford has signed a 10-day deal with the Pelicans and should be seen in action tonight. The Pelicans are severely shorthanded and are playing on the second night of a back-to-back. With this news coming after salaries were released, Crawford is not available on the sites. Hollis Thompson has been playing 25+ minutes but has been largely ineffective. Crawford could move Thompson down a bit in the rotation or be used as the backup guard behind E'Twaun Moore.

Hollis Thompson will start Sunday, E'Twaun Moore to come off bench

Thompson will get the start but Moore should log more minutes. Moore will still be the fourth option in New Orleans' offense going forward. Of course, the vast majority of the team's production will come through Demarcus Cousins, Anthony Davis, and Jrue Holiday, which doesn't leave much for Moore and the rest of the squad. Given his price on today's slate, Moore does offer a decent value but he has a limited upside, which prevents him from being an exciting target.

Hollis Thompson will start for E'Twaun Moore (illness) Saturday

Even though he's starting, Thompson is not really a viable fantasy target. Thomas averaged a lackluster 0.61 FanDuel points per minute in Philadelphia and it's doubtful he can improve that rate by much in New Orleans. Tim Frazier should rotate in quite a bit and the team will run through Demarcus Cousins, Anthony Davis, and to a lesser extent, Jrue Holiday. It's probably not worth looking past those three on the Pelicans.

Hollis Thompson waived by Philadelphia

NBA team have until Jan. 7 to waive players and avoid guaranteeing their salaries for the rest of the season. Hollis Thompson was waived by the Sixers today and that means they have a ton of faith in Nik Stauskas and Robert Covington. Thompson was being used as their backup but was unable to make an impact this season.

Gerald Henderson (hip) ruled out for the next two games

Gerald Henderson will not play against the Jazz or Nuggets due to a hip injury. Hollis Thompson started in the game that Henderson missed earlier this season but was only able to put up 17.1 FanDuel points in 27 minutes. If Thompson starts again, he'll be a low-end option against a tough defensive team. Nik Stauskas saw 42+ minutes in that overtime game that Henderson sat and is likely the better option than Thompson. Sauce is dealing with a knee issue so there is some risk with that play.

Nik Stauskas (knee) available to play tonight

Stauskas will be available to play off the bench in tonight's game against the Sacramento Kings after a one-game absence from the lineup due to a sore left knee. His presence in the rotation will cut into the minutes of Hollis Thompson and to some extent Dario Saric. Neither player were on fantasy radars on an 11-game slate, though the minute fluctuation is worth noting given Stauskas' return from injury. Joel Embiid stills remains the primary target on this Sixers squad on a night-to-night basis, especially in an exploitable matchup with the Kings' front court defense.

Nik Stauskas (knee) ruled out tonight

Stauskas will not play in tonight's game against the Brooklyn Nets after previously being listed as questionable on the Sixers' injury report with a sore left knee. Hollis Thompson is reportedly available to play in this contest and, ironically, is also the biggest beneficiary with Stauskas unavailable to play off the bench. However, Thompson would still find himself in a secondary reserve role with the Sixers relatively close to full strength, meaning it would be difficult to imagine him have the upside needed in tournaments to be a viable target.

Nik Stauskas (knee) questionable tonight; Hollis Thompson (knee) available to play

Stauskas has been downgraded to questionable for tonight's game against the Brooklyn Nets after not originally being listed on the Sixers' injury report. Hollis Thompson is reportedly available to play in this one and, ironically, would also be the biggest beneficiary if Stauskas were to be ruled out. However, Thompson would still find himself in a secondary reserve role with the Sixers relatively close to full strength, meaning it would be difficult to imagine him have the upside needed in tournaments.

Hollis Thompson (knee) probable for Sunday

Thompson has been upgraded to probable for tomorrow's game against the Brooklyn Nets due to a sore right knee that caused him to be an extremely late scratch in Friday's loss to the Lakers. Thompson's potential absence wouldn't do a ton to move the needle in this Sixers' rotation with everyone healthy, though there may be a few extra minutes to go around for Nik Stauskas and Dario Saric, assuming Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot doesn't enter the rotation.

If Gerald Henderson is ruled out; Hollis Thompson will start in his place

Henderson has been downgraded to questionable for tonight's game against Miami, as he is reportedly dealing with flu-like symptoms. If he is ruled out, Hollis Thompson would draw the start at shooting guard in Henderson's place. As for Bayless, he has been upgraded to probable for tonight's contest after being listed as questionable with a wrist injury that has kept him sidelined for the duration of the regular season thus far. Bayless will reportedly go through pregame warmups before an official decision on his status is made, and there has been no confirmed reports of a minutes restriction. Ilyasova is apparently dealing with foot soreness, and has been added to the Sixers' injury report as probable. He is expected to play, but this is a situation worth monitoring, as Dario Saric would become an intriguing value option with the extra minutes available if Ilyasova is ruled out.
