Iman Shumpert Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections
Iman Shumpert (knee) available to play Wednesday
Shumpert has officially been upgraded from questionable and will be available to play in Wednesday’s matchup against the Charlotte Hornets despite dealing with a sore left knee. Shumpert has settled into an extremely consistent role off the bench in head coach Kenny Atkinson’s rotation ever since making his Nets’ debut in mid-November, and he’s logged at least 18 minutes in all but two games over this stretch. Shumpert has been the direct substitute for Joe Harris o the wing most nights, so it'd be surprising to see that change for the remaining duration of Caris LeVert and Kyrie Irving's injury hiatuses.
Iman Shumpert (knee) upgraded to questionable Wednesday
Shumpert has officially been upgraded from doubtful and is now questionable for Wednesday's matchup against the Charlotte Hornets due to a sore left knee. Shumpert has settled into an extremely consistent role off the bench in head coach Kenny Atkinson's rotation ever since making his Nets' debut in mid-November, and he's logged at least 18 minutes in all but two games over this stretch. Shumpert has been the direct substitute for Joe Harris most nights, so if he's unable to suit up, it's possible that Harris and Garrett Temple see elevated minute floors in tonight's contest, though a mid-day upgrade in status is usually a positive sign for a player's availability.
Kenneth Faried (knee) out Wednesday
Faried has officially been downgraded from questionable and won't play in Wednesday’s matchup against the Memphis Grizzlies due to a sore left knee after logging 21 minutes in his return to the lineup in Tuesday’s win. The Rockets will also be without Eric Gordon and Nene Hilario for rest purposes on the second leg of a back-to-back set, so Iman Shumpert will join the starting lineup alongside James Harden on the wing, and he saw 31 minutes his last time out and should be a significant beneficiary in terms of playing time with Faried unable to suit up, making him a potential pivot from Danuel House Jr. in tournament formats on tonight’s nine-game slate. As for House, he's been serviceable from a fantasy perspective in an average of 31.9 minutes per game over the previous three contests in both reserve and starting roles, keeping him firmly in consideration for all formats as well.
Iman Shumpert (rest) out Tuesday; Nene (rest) out two games
Shumpert has been added to the Rockets' injury report and won't play in Tuesday's matchup against the Atlanta Hawks due to rest purposes on the front end of a back-to-back set, while Nene will sit both of the upcoming contests despite totaling just 18 minutes over the previous four games. Shumpert did end up playing 31 minutes in Sunday's win with both Austin Rivers and Kenneth Faried picking up DNP-CDs as part of a pre-planned rest day, but he typically only sees minutes in the upper teens on a nightly basis.
Iman Shumpert (calf) will play Friday
Shumpert has officially been upgraded from questionable and will play in Friday's matchup against the Philadelphia 76ers after missing three consecutive games due to a sore right calf, while Kenneth Faried will miss at least two additional games with a strained left adductor. In Shumpert's most recent game, he was limited to just 13 minutes off the bench, and while his role in the rotation is still relatively up in the air, his return will almost certainly signal the end Gary Clark's recent run at the back end of the wing and frontcourt rotations.
Kenneth Faried (hip) and Iman Shumpert (calf) out Tuesday
Faried has officially been downgraded from questionable and won't play in Tuesday's matchup against the Toronto Raptors due to a sore left hip flexor that's now forced him to miss three consecutive games, while Shumpert will sit for the third straight contest with a sore right calf. Head coach Mike D'Antoni also disclosed that both players are considered day-to-day, which means that there is currently no tentative return date for either Faried or Shumpert and they'll be re-evaluated on a daily basis. With both players unavailable for Sunday's win, D'Antoni essentially utilized an eight-man rotation, though Nene Hilario did log 14 minutes at center with the second unit in bigger lineup combinations. Additionally, all five starters logged at least 34 minutes in that contest, so they'll be firmly in consideration for tournament formats despite the difficult matchup with a Raptors squad that ranks seventh in defensive efficiency on the year.
Kenneth Faried (hip) will try to play Sunday; Iman Shumpert (calf) officially out
Faried has officially been upgraded from probable and will try to play in Sunday's matchup against the Boston Celtics after missing one game due to a sore left hip flexor, while Shumpert will miss yet another game with a sore right calf. Eric Gordon and Gerald Green have also been cleared to play, and head coach Mike D’Antoni already confirmed that Gordon will rejoin the starting lineup for today’s contest, which will send Gary Clark back to the bench to resume a reserve role and possibly out of the rotation entirely considering he had accrued five consecutive DNP-CDs prior to logging 32 minutes in his spot start.
Kenneth Faried (hip) listed as doubtful Thursday; Iman Shumpert (calf) listed out
Faried has been listed as doubtful on the most recent version of the Rockets' injury report for Thursday's matchup against the Miami Heat due to a left hip contusion he sustained in Wednesday's win, while Shumpert has already been listed out with a sore right calf he began experiencing in the same contest. Additionally, Nene Hilario is slated to return from a one-game absence for rest, and he may be called upon to serve as the backup center with Faried unavailable, but he hasn't logged more than 17 minutes off the bench in well over a month's time.
James Harden (neck) probable Monday; Iman Shumpert (knee) available to play
Harden has officially been upgraded from questionable to probable for Monday's matchup against the Atlanta Hawks after missing one game due to a strained neck, while Shumpert has been cleared to return from a two-game absence stemming from a sore right knee. There's been no word of a possible minute restriction for Harden, so he'll presumably reclaim his spot in the starting lineup, sending Kenneth Faried back to the bench to resume a reserve role following a solid fantasy performance in 33 minutes of action in Saturday's win. With Harden on track to play, Chris Paul and the remaining members of the Rockets rotation would take a significant hit in their projected fantasy value, though they still draw an exploitable matchup with a Hawks squad that ranks first in pace and 28th in defensive efficiency on the season.
Iman Shumpert (rest) listed out Tuesday; De'Aaron Fox (toe) and Nemanja Bjelica (back) listed as questionable
Shumpert has been listed out on the most recent version of the Kings' injury report and won't play in Tuesday's matchup against the Toronto Raptors due to rest purposes on the second leg of a back-to-back set, while Fox and Bjelica are listed as questionable with ailments they sustained during Monday's loss. Despite the questionable designations, there have been hints from head coach Dave Joerger that he'd like to rest Fox in an upcoming game, so it wouldn't be too surprising if Fox is eventually ruled out closer to tipoff. With Shumpert unavailable, Bogdan Bogdanovic will almost certainly draw the start at small forward in his place, and he's averaged 30.1 minutes per game when Shumpert has been sidelined this season. On top of that, Bogdanovic owns a 29.6% usage rate (+4.4%) and is averaging 1.16 DraftKings and 1.11 FanDuel points per minute with Fox and Shumpert off the court.
