Jakeem Grant Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections

CHI WR Jakeem Grant placed on IR

Jakeem Grant has been placed on IR ahead of the Bears matchup against the Minnesota Vikings this Sunday. Grant was expected to serve as receiver depth and play an important role on special teams. In his absence Khalil Herbert will likely handle kick return duties while Dazz Newsome could be elevated to handle punts. Ultimately, Grant's absence doesn't figure to be DFS relevant.

CHI WR Jakeem Grant (ankle) DNP Wednesday

Jakeem Grant (ankle) logged a DNP Wednesday ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Minnesota Vikings. Grant is expected to serve mainly on special teams and as receiver depth so his potential absence should not be DFS relevant.

CHI QB Justin Fields, QB Andy Dalton, and WR Jakeem Grant returned to practice Wednesday

Justin Fields, Andy Dalton, and Jakeem Grant returned to practice Wednesday ahead of the Bears matchup against the New York Giants on Sunday. HC Matt Nagy has not yet named a starting quarterback for this Sunday and will likely take some time to evaluate both Fields and Dalton before making a decision. It will be important to monitor this situation as the week progresses.

CHI WR Jakeem Grant and QB Andy Dalton listed out Sunday; WR Marquise Goodwin listed questionable; QB Justin Fields listed questionable but will not start, QB Nick Foles to start

Jakeem Grant and Andy Dalton have been listed out Sunday, Marquise Goodwin has been listed questionable, and Justin Fields has been listed questionable but will not start, Nick Foles will start against the Seahawks. With Dalton out and Fields dealing with an ankle injury, Foles will be thrust into the starting role for the Bears. Bears pass-catchers will see a slight increase in expected production due to the fact that Foles is a more traditional passer. With jakeem Grant out, Damiere Byrd could play a larger role in the offense and Dazz Newsome could once again be elevated to help on special teams. Marquise Goodwin seems to be on track to make his return this week but if he were once again to miss the other Bears pass-catchers could see increased volume.

CHI WR Marquise Goodwin returned to practice Wednesday; WR Jakeem Grant DNP

Marquise Goodwin returned to practice Wednesday, while Jakeem Grant logged a DNP ahead of the Bears matchup with the Seattle Seahawks. Goodwin seems to be trending in the right direction to make his return and would slot in as the third receiver behind Darnell Mooney and Allen Robinson (currently on the COVID list). If Jakeem Grant were unable to suit up the Bears would likely need to find a new return man but should be set at receiver provided they get both Goodwin and Robinson back this week. Damiere Byrd would step in and see any snaps that Grant would have seen at receiver.

CHI RB David Montgomery, RB Khalil Herbert, WR Jakeem Grant, TE Cole Kmet, and TE Jesper Horsted all returned to practice Friday; WR Marquise Goodwin DNP

David Montgomery, Khalil Herbert, Jakeem Grant, Cole Kmet, and Jesper Horsted all returned to practice Friday, while Marquise Goodwin logged another DNP ahead of the Bears Monday night matchup with the Minnesota Vikings. All returning players were dealing with an illness and should be able to return to their normal roles by Monday. Montgomery will lead the backfield with Herbert available to back him up. Jakeem Grant should play a role in the return game as weel as being the number three receiver for the Bears. Kmet should be the primary tight end with Horsted, Graham, and Holtz available to back him up. Goodwin is still dealing with a foot injury, if he were unable to play Grant and Damiere Byrd would play a larger role in the passing game behind Darnell Mooney.

CHI RB David Montgomery, RB Khalil Herbert, WR Marquise Goodwin, WR Jakeem Grant, TE Cole Kmet, and TE Jesper Horsted DNP Thursday

David Montgomery, Khalil Herbert, Marquise Goodwin, Jakeem Grant, Cole Kmet, and Jesper Horsted DNP Thursday ahead of the Bears Monday night matchup with the Minnesota Vikings. It is still early in the week and the Gears will have an extra day to get healthy with most members of this list dealing with non-COVID illnesses. If Montgomery and Herbert were unable to suit up Damien Williams would be the lead back by default and would be a tremendous value option on the showdown slate. If Goodwin and/or Grant were unable to suit up Darnell Mooney would continue as the top receiver for the Bears with Damiere Byrd opposite him. If Cole Kmet were unable to suit up Jimmy Graham would likely see the bulk of the tight end snaps. It will be important to see how these players progress on the practice report in the coming days.

CHI WR Jakeem Grant listed questionable Sunday

Grant was listed as questionable, but is likely only to play on returns as he's only played two snaps the last three weeks; he won't be in DFS consideration, and nothing should change if he ends up sitting.

CHI WR Allen Robinson, WR Jakeem Grant, and TE J.P. Holtz listed questionable for Sunday; TE Jimmy Graham to be placed on COVID list

Allen Robinson, Jakeem Grant, and J.P. Holtz listed questionable for Sunday when the Bears are set to take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Allen Robinson is expected to play and serve as the top option for Justin Fields opposite Darnell Mooney in what should be a pass-heavy attack for the Bears. Jakeem Grant is expected to serve primarily as a return man and J.P Holtz should serve as the third tight end behind Cole Kmet and Jesse James (with Jimmy Graham now on the COVID list). Neither Grant nor Holtz are expected to be DFS relevant.

CHI WR Allen Robinson (ankle) and WR Jakeem Grant (ankle) both DNP Wednesday

Allen Robinson (ankle) and Jakeem Grant (ankle) both logged DNPs Wednesday ahead of their matchup Sunday with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Allen Robinson is still dealing with an ankle injury but was able to suit up this past Sunday and caught 4 of his 7 targets for 53 yards. Robinson continues to be a bit of a disappointment this year but this week could be a different story against Tampa Bay. The Bears will likely be forced to throw the ball as they will probably be laying from behind and the Buccaneers have a notoriously stout run defense. If Robinson is unable to suit up Darnell Mooney will play an even bigger role in the passing game with Marquise Goodwin possibly filling in for Robinson opposite Mooney.
