Jamize Olawale Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections

Tony Pollard, Devin Smith Inactive Thursday

Pollard is inactive Thursday night, leaving the Cowboys with just RB Ezekiel Elliott and FB Jamize Olawale for the running game. WR Devin Smith is also inactive, not surprising since he hasn't played since Week 4.

Tony Pollard (Ankle) Does Not Practice Tuesday

Pollard was a new addition to the injury report Tuesday with an ankle injury. He was not able to practice at all, putting his status for Thursday's game in question. He receives limited touches behind Ezekiel Elliott, not reaching 10 touches since Week 3.

Ezekiel Elliott Signs Contract, Partial Workload Expected Week 1

Ezekiel Elliott signed a 6-year contract, ending his holdout just four days prior to the Cowboys first regular season game. The current plan is to have Elliott play 20-25 snaps, Pollard to back him up and FB Jamize Olawale to see time on 3rd down due to his blitz pickup ability. Elliott led the NFL in touches, rush attempts and rush yards last season while breaking 2000 yards from scrimmage and pulling in 77 catches. The increased role in the passing game pushed the already elite Elliott to a new level.

With the Cowboys offensive line remaining strong, Elliott should produce at similar levels this season once up to full speed. Even with limited snaps Elliott is capable of a big game, but it will be riskier than usual given his high price and limited role. Pollard takes a significant hit with Elliott's return but is still in position to produce Week 1. His is reasonably priced and should get nearly all the remaining touches out of the backfield. Olawale received 4 targets total over 16 games last season and is a non-factor for DFS.

With Latavius Murray doubtful, which Raiders RB do we target?

Sources have stated that Raiders starting RB Latavius Murray is doubtful to play this week against the Chargers with a toe injury. He'd been losing touches over the past few weeks to DeAndre Washington and Jalen Richard anyway and those two should receive the bulk of the work if Murray sits with Jamize Olawale getting some short yardage and goal line work. Washington is probably the most talented of the three backs and was a preseason darling. If the previous four games are any indication (Washington 29 opportunities to Richard's 24), Washington should get about 60% of the touches and is the best play of the three. He'll also be talked up and have high ownership given his cheap price so there's merit to using Richard as a leverage play/pivot. The Chargers for what it's worth are 21st in RB Run game DVOA and 25th in RB Pass game DVOA so it's a positive match up for whichever back is getting the ball.
