Jarrett Jack Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections
Very Few Value Targets Tonight
There are only four games on the schedule tonight and as is often the case, we are lacking some serious value. One player that offers both a high floor and a low price tag is Jarrett Jack. He is priced under $5,000 on both FanDuel and DraftKings and he gets to face a Nuggets' defense that is ranked 27th in both efficiency and DvP against point guards this season.
Cheap Guard To Consider
I can't believe I'm writing these words, but Jarrett Jack is a solid cash play on Sunday. He's cheap and has posted three monster games in a row. Granted, one of them was a triple-double that required double-overtime, but the man still got his triple-double! Over the past 10 days he's averaged 32.1 minutes per game and is still getting solid time on the court. Until the Knicks trade him or turn the keys over to Frank Ntilikina, I think you roll Jack out there.
Surprising Production from an NBA Veteran
At the beginning of the season, I never would have guessed that I'd be rostering Jarrett Jack over and over again in DFS. He was basically a third-stringer for a bad Knicks' team. With sloppy play by the other point guards, he worked his way into the starting lineup and he has yet to disappoint. In his three starts, he has scored 26, 23, and 29 fantasy points and he has played at least 32 minutes in back-to-back games. At his price point, he's viable in cash games and tournaments tonight against the Rockets, who don't have a true point guard available on their active roster.
Michael Beasley (ankle sprain) available to play Saturday; Jarrett Jack active
Beasley will be available to play off the bench in tonight's game against the Detroit Pistons after previously being listed as questionable on the New York Knicks' injury report with a sprained left ankle he sustained early in Thursday's loss to Oklahoma City Thunder. He'll be expected to be a key cog in the Knicks second unit, especially with Willy Hernangomez seeing limited time, as long as he is healthy. With Frank Ntilikina officially unavailable with a sprained ankle, the Knicks have activated Jarrett Jack for added depth at point guard, but Ramon Sessions and Ron Baker should continue to split a majority if not, all of the playing time at the point while Ntilikina is sidelined.
Jarrett Jack has signed a 10-day contract with New Orleans
Guard Jarrett Jack has signed a 10-day contract with the New Orleans Pelicans and could debut against the Mavs on Saturday. Jack will likely be used as the backup PG and at SG at times. It'll be tough to trust him right off the bat but he's always been a steady player. Considering he ended last season injured, it'll be impossible to trust Jack in cash games for Saturday. Tim Frazier will likely continue to be sparingly used.
Jarrett Jack out for the season
Jack will miss the entire season with a torn ACL. This will benefit Shane Larkin as he should get all the minutes he can handle. He will be a top value play for the weeks to come as long as his price doesn’t rise that much.
Shane Larkin out Sunday
Larkin will miss his third straight with a concussion Sunday. With Larkin out, Jarrett Jack has been on fire. Over his last two games, Jack is averaging 24 points, 8 assists, and 5 rebounds per game. In those games he is averaging about 38 minutes per game. Jack makes for a very nice play, and he is still pretty cheap for his recent production.
Jarrett Jack providing value at PG Friday
Jarrett Jack has a chance shine tonight at home against the Lakers. His price on DraftKings is $5,700, placing him 17th amongst PGs tonight. Names like Curry, Lowry, and Wall will lead the pack, meaning Jack will definitely be one of the lower-owned choices. The Lakers are 28th in DvP @ PG, and Jack saw 34 minutes in his last home outing. The combination of an atrocious defense and guaranteed minutes make for an appealing matchup. With a team total of 105 (4th highest) and a close game projected by a 4 point spread, expect Jack to orchestrate a ton of offense for the Nets.
Jarrett Jack starting at PG
Jarrett Jack will be starting tonight against the Spurs. Expect Jack to play a majority of the minutes at PG with Shane Larkin and Donald Sloan backing him up.
Jarrett Jack goes through shootaround, probable Friday
We reported Jack's probable status yesterday, and that is confirmed after he went through today's shootaround and described himself as feeling "amazing." Jack will step right into the starting PG role for the Nets and should see heavy usage this season without Deron Williams to sieve playing time from him. Despite a relatively tough road match-up with the Spurs, Jack is a very solid GPP play at $6,200 on FanDuel. That price will surely rise in the coming weeks.
