Javorius Allen Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections

Wayne Gallman (Concussion) Clears Protocol, Available Sunday

Gallman cleared the concussion protocol and will play Sunday. Saquon Barkley is returning from injury, so Gallman will be back in the RB2 role, limiting him to just a couple touches.

Giants Sign Javorius "Buck" Allen, Waive Jon Hilliman

Jon Hilliman got his opportunity over the past three weeks with the Giants having multiple RB injuries, but only managed to gain 3.0 yards per carry with 2 fumbles. The Giants waived Hilliman and signed veteran Javorius 'Buck' Allen. While Allen isn't a flashy option, he is reliable and will serve as a solid backup as the main RB's get healthy for New York.

RB Alex Collins (foot) doesn't practice Thursday

The Ravens back was limited on Wednesday as well so he's now looking questionable for Sunday's showdown with the Steelers. If Collins were to miss Week 9, a committee with Buck Allen and newly-signed Ty Montgomery would result with Allen likely taking on more of the early down work. Friday's practice will be telling.

RB Alex Collins (knee) not practicing Thursday

Collins got in a limited practice Wednesday so this is a downgrade late in the week. Friday's practice will shed light on his availability for Sunday's game at Cleveland. If Collins gets ruled out, Buck Allen would instantly become one of the top values on the slate as an all-purpose back attached to a 3-point favorite and 25-point team total.

RB Alex Collins good to go in Week 3

He's recovered from an illness earlier in the week and makes for an interesting contrarian play at $6,300 on FanDuel with the Ravens installed as 5-point home favorites. Unfortunately, Buck Allen ended up scoring on a goal line carry last week and once again split touches and snaps down the middle. Though Collins surprisingly outgained Allen in the receiving department with 55 yards through the air, so perhaps game script is now irrelevant to this timeshare.

RB Alex Collins out with an illness today

Doesn't sound like anything major for the Ravens' lead back and he should be back out there later in the week. Javorius Allen would step in as the primary rusher if Collins were to miss time, though he'll continue to eat into the starter's workload even if both are healthy.

TE Hayden Hurst and RB Kenneth Dixon ruled out for TNF

As expected, the starting TE and backup RB won't be out there against the Bengals. Nick Boyle paced the Ravens TE corps with 3 catches for 40 yards in Sunday’s blowout of the Bills, though fellow tight ends Maxx Williams and Mark Andrews weren’t too far behind with 3 catches each of their own. Nonetheless, Boyle started the game for the Ravens, was in on nearly 70% of the team’s snaps, and tied for the team lead in targets. He appears worthy of some consideration on smaller slates in a game that the Ravens may be forced to pass more this time around. Alex Collins and Buck Allen will pick up Dixon's snaps in what is likely to remain a committee. The 2 backs racked up nearly an even snap count in Week 1, though Collins did lose a fumble early in that game where he was briefly benched, suggesting he could have a short leash in Week 2.

RB Kenneth Dixon not expected to play Thursday

Dixon's knee injury is going to cost him some time. Alex Collins and Buck Allen will pick up his snaps in what is almost certain to remain a committee in Baltimore where the former eats up early down duties and the latter shuffles in on passing downs. The 2 backs racked up nearly an even snap count in Week 1's blowout of Buffalo, though Collins did lose a fumble early in that game where he was briefly benched, suggesting he may have a short leash in Week 2.

Alex Collins will remain Ravens featured back Week 11

Terrance West and Danny Woodhead are both practicing this week and questionable for Sunday. Despite their potential returns to the field, offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg told reporters Thursday that Collins will keep his featured role this weekend against the Packers. The Ravens are road favorites and their stout secondary could overwhelm Brett Hundley and keep game flow in Collins' favor. Green Bay is eighth in adjusted line yards (3.61) but they're allowing the tenth-most rushing touchdowns to RBs (0.67/g) and the 13th-most rushing yards (99.33/g). Collins hardly gets any action in the passing game - three receptions all year - and Woodhead's presence would further diminish the limited potential Collins has in the area. It would also be a big drag on Buck Allen's production. Allen currently leads the team in targets and derives most of his fantasy production through his work in the passing game, so if Woodhead is expected to handle a decent workload, Allen would slip off the fantasy radar. If West is active, he could steal some early-down work from Collins, limiting Collins' upside. It's worth following this situation into the weekend as Collins may also lose his fantasy appeal if West plays despite his "featured" designation.

Danny Woodhead questionable for Week 11

Woodhead, who's been in the IR with a serious hamstring injury will practice tomorrow and possibly return to the field on Sunday. He'll be closely monitored by the coaching staff throughout the week to see how he responds. If he's able to play, he could be limited in his first game back but the snaps he picks up would likely come at the expense of fellow passing-down RB Buck Allen.
