Jay Ajayi Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections

Eagles Releasing RB Jay Ajayi

The Eagles are releasing RB Jay Ajayi, indicating that Jordan Howard is expected to return. He played in three games for the Eagles, rushing for 30 yards on 10 carries.

ESPN's Sal Paolantonio "Expects an Even Time Share Between Miles Sanders and Jay Ajayi"

Sanders will reportedly see more of the passing work, while Ajayi will likely run on early downs for the Eagles. Expect Miles Sanders' ownership to drastically decrease as it appears DFS players lost the biggest value play on the main slate.

Jordan Howard (Shoulder) Not Cleared for Contact, Will be Limited in Practice

Howard was out last week, and the fact he is still not cleared for contact puts his status in doubt for this week. Miles Sanders and Boston Scott both failed to break 40 yards last week as the Eagles rushed for just 81 yards rushing vs the Patriots. Considering that Jay Ajayi is also expected to have a role moving forward, the Eagles backfield is fairly crowded, with Sanders the highest upside player.

Eagles RB Jordan Howard is Officially Inactive

With Howard out, Miles Sanders and Boston Scott will likely lead the Eagles running game, with newly signed Jay Ajayi also factoring in the mix. Because of Sanders’ involvement in the passing game, he is an excellent tournament option with Howard out due to is expected increase in opportunity and price across the industry, despite the tough matchup against the elite Patriots D.

Eagles RB Jordan Howard is Out for Today's Game Against the Patriots

Jordan Howard (Shoulder) Limited Friday, Questionable for Sunday

Howard is was limited Friday and is officially Questionable for Sunday. He has seen an increased workload as the season progresses, including 42 rush attempts over the last two games. If out, Miles Sanders would become an appealing option with upside, while newly signed Jay Ajayi could see some snaps.

Eagles Plan to Sign Jay Ajayi

The Eagles intend to sign free agent RB Jay Ajayi. He spent time during the 2017 and 2018 seasons with the Eagles, so he should be able to play quicker than a typical free agent.

Jay Ajayi (torn ACL) out for the season

The Eagles have placed running back Jay Ajayi on IR, and Adam Schefter has reported it is due to a torn ACL. Ajayi will be out for the season, making Wendell Smallwood and Corey Clement the new running back committee for the Eagles backfield. Darren Sproles will be involved as well once his own injury issues stop preventing him from taking the field, but on a short week look for Smallwood and Clement to lead the rushing attack for the Eagles Thursday night against the Giants.

RB's Darren Sproles (hamstring) and Corey Clement (quad) not practicing Wednesday

Both running backs should be considered questionable for Week 5 against the Vikings. Jay Ajayi and Wendell Smallwood nearly split snaps down the middle in Week 4, with Ajayi severely out touching Smallwood. You can expect a similar distribution on Sunday where the Eagles come in as 3-point home favorites, setting up promising gameflow for Ajayi at only $6,300 on FanDuel and $5,100 on DraftKings. If Sproles and Clement play, then the entire backfield should likely be avoided again.

RB Darren Sproles will not play Sunday; RB Corey Clement is questionable

With Sproles out and Clement questionable, Ajayi may see more work than we thought coming off of a back injury that kept him out in Week 3. At $6,600 on FanDuel and $5,500 on DraftKings he's probably in play now given the favorable game flow expected with Eagles as 4-point favorites at Tennessee, though he's certainly at risk of an in game injury. Clement's status should be monitored through Sunday morning as Wendell Smallwood would end up being Ajayi's only real competition for snaps at that point.
