Jeremy Hill Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections

Jeremy Hill Out for Season

Jeremy Hill will miss the 2018 season with a torn ACL suffered in Week 1. Hill played 12 of 75 snaps against the Texans and received 4 carries and 1 reception. This should solidify Rex Burkhead as the goal line back, although you ever know with the Patriots. Sony Michel is on the mend so this will still be an unpredictable situation in New England.

Mike Gillislee Released by Pats

Mike Gillilsee has become a casualty of the 53-man roster limit today, as the Pats have released him. It's always a guessing game when we're trying to pick the right NE RB to put in our lineups week-to-week, so this should add *some* clarity. Jeremy Hill should now be getting the short-yardage and goal line work, James White and rookie Sony Michel left to split some carries and most of the passing down work.

Jeremy Hill (ankle) placed on IR, ending his season

The Cincinnati Bengals have officially placed Hill on injured reserve with an ankle injury, effectively ending his season, and in all likelihood, his tenure as a running back on this Cincinnati offense. This is good news for the prospects of Joe Mixon for the rest of the season, as the rookie has failed to really get it going with Hill constantly stealing backfield touches, evidenced by his unimpressive 2.9 yards per carry average to this point in the year. Mixon is nothing more than a tournament play in Week 10, however, as the Tennessee Titans are quietly a pass-funnel defense, ranking a respectable 12th in run DVOA.

Jeremy Hill ruled out for Week 10, Tyler Boyd will play, K Randy Bullock questionable

Hill was a late scratch Sunday after suffering an ankle injury in warmups and hasn't been able to practice all week. His absence it will allow Joe Mixon to start again and pick up a few more touches. He garnered 16 in Jacksonville last Sunday and scored, although he only managed 45 yards. On the season, he's produced just 2.9 yards per carry and his Week 10 opponent, the Titans, have held opponents to the fourth-fewest ypc this season (3.6). On top of that, they've given up the fewest rushing touchdowns (3). Setting up as a pass funnel defense, the Titans rank 22nd in pass DVOA and have permitted the seventh-most scores through the air (1.9/g). That opens up a nice spot for Andy Dalton on the road. Since 2015, the QB has tossed 1.7 touchdowns per game when away, a 0.5 touchdown bump over his production at home. His go-to receiver A.J. Green will square off with A'doree' Jackson, who's allowed the tenth-most touchdowns this season (3). Boyd probably won't have too much of a role with John Ross and Josh Malone also working in behind Green and Brand LaFell. Bullock was inactive last week and it appears is back injury will keep him sidelined again this weekend. If he's out, Marshall Koehn will take over the kicking duties. Both players are available for the minimum on FanDuel but the Bengals have a low implied total (18) and have attempted the fewest field goals this season (10).

Jeremy Hill isn't practicing Thursday

Hill was a late scratch Sunday after suffering an ankle injury in warmups. If he can't go, it will allow Joe Mixon to start again and pick up a few more touches. He garnered 16 in Jacksonville last Sunday and scored, although he only managed 45 yards. On the season, he's produced just 2.9 yards per carry and his Week 10 opponent, the Titans, have held opponents to the fourth-fewest ypc this season (3.6). Jeremy Hill isn't practicing Wednesday, Tyler Boyd is participating

Boyd may return from a three-game absence but he isn't expected to pick up a large enough role to be on the fantasy radar.

Jeremy Hill, John Ross, Tyler Boyd, and K Randy Bullock inactive Week 9; Joe Mixon will start in place of HIll

Reporters believe Hill suffered some type of injury during warm-ups while Ross is a healthy scratch in favor of receiver Josh Malone, who will now serve as their WR3. Mixon had already secured the lead running back role but Hill's absence should provide him more snaps and touches against a Jaguars unit that ranks 32nd in rush DVOA and adjusted line yards. Their poor efficiency hasn't turned into a ton of fantasy production for RBs though, they find themselves in the middle of the pack, checking it at 15th in PPR points allowed to the position. The Bengals will continue to focus on A.J. Green in the passing game but it's a difficult matchup as the Jaguars are first in pass DVOA and they've limited receivers to the fewest PPR points this season.

Tyler Eifert, Jeremy Hill fully participate in Wednesday's practice

It's a relief for both Eifert and the Bengals that he's entering the season healthy, especially considering how dominant he's been when active. Eifert is tied for 4th in touchdowns among TEs dating back to 2014, a span over which he's played just 22 games - no one else ranked inside the top five has played fewer than 34. The touchdown upside with Eifert remains high almost each and every week. The Ravens pass defense ranked 10th in DVOA and 9th in passing yards per attempt last season, and they've been particularly stout against TEs in recent years (3rd in DVOA vs. TEs last season), so the floor here is too low to consider in cash games. Eifert is still a viable tournament play, but there aren't many intriguing DFS options in this game as a whole.

Jeremy Hill expected to start for Bengals in Week 1

Giovani Bernard is listed second on the depth chart while rookie Joe Mixon is currently third. All three guys will get snaps against Baltimore this weekend but projecting the market share between them will be a difficult task. Our projections model gives Mixon the edge in this backfield, although that doesn't make him a great target - three-backs time shares don't generally generate strong fantasy performances. It seems likely Bernard will primarily fill a passing down role while Hill and Mixon split early down and red zone duties. Most are expecting Mixon to transition into the lead role as the season wears on, especially if Hill doesn't improve his efficiency - he averaged 3.8 yards per carry last season - but it may be best to give it a couple weeks before targeting the rookie in fantasy. If he's able to separate himself from the pack, he'll carry plenty of upside each week.

Jeremy Hill not expected to play Sunday

Rex Burkhead will start at running back against the Ravens in Week 17. He'll be one of many interesting value options this weekend as he should have a pretty hefty workload, which should include some receptions out of the backfield. Baltimore ranks first in rush DVOA on the season, but they've allowed the 10th-most fantasy points per game to running backs over the past four weeks. Ryan Mathews and Le'Veon Bell each rushed for over 120 yards, averaged over 6.0 yards per carry, and scored a touchdown in Weeks 15 and 16, respectively.
