John Brown Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections

JAC TE James O'Shaughnessy activated to 53-man roster from IR; WR John Brown elevated from practice squad for Sunday

James O'Shaughnessy has been activated to the 53-man roster from IR while John Brown has been elevated from the practice squad for Sunday's game against the Atlanta Falcons. O'Shaughnessy is expected to backup Dan Arnold but should still not be considered DFS relevant. Brown is expected to serve as receiver depth and is not considered DFS relevant at this point.

JAC WR John Brown elevated from practice squad for Sunday

John Brown has been elevated from the practice squad for Sunday's game against the San Francisco 49ers. Brown is expected to serve as receiver depth and is not expected to be DFS relevant at this time.

DEN WR John Brown elevated from practice squad; WR Jerry Jeudy remains on IR

Brown was listed as a protected player on the practice squad for the team yesterday, and ultimately did get the activation for tonight as the Broncos prepare to play the Cleveland Browns. Jeudy, meanwhile, was not activated off of the IR, and will sit out as expected. Brown will be a depth wideout for the team, as the top two options at WR are clearly Courtland Sutton and Tim Patrick, while Noah Fant will be an integral part of the offense. Brown is still showdown viable and may get more work as he gets more acclimated to the team.

DEN WR John Brown and WR Tyrie Cleveland elevated from practice squad for Sunday

John Brown and Tyrie Cleveland have both been elevated from the practice squad for Sunday's game against the Las Vegas Raiders. Brown (who was signed earlier in the week) and Cleveland are both expected to serve as receiver depth at this time and are not DFS relevant. Brown might see more opportunities in the future as he gets more comfortable with his new team.

Bills not expected to activate John Brown before Monday's game

The Bills aren't expected to activate John Brown before Monday night's meeting with the Patriots. They'd need to activate him by 4 PM ET, and at this point it looks very unlikely that happens. With Brown out, Gabriel Davis will see more run as the 3rd WR behind Stefon Diggs and Cole Beasley, primarily operating against the Patriots outside CBs. Especially in Showdown formats, Davis' value spikes with Brown out of action. Isaiah McKenzie could see some added run behind Davis, but he's nothing more than a dart throw GPP play.

John Brown (ankle) officially ruled out for Sunday

Brown was an observer at practice for a third straight day, and he's officially been ruled out of Sunday's Week 12 matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers due to an ankle injury. Brown has dealt with nagging ankle and knee injuries for what seems like a majority of the season, and he'll be sidelined for a third time this weekend. In his absence, Gabriel Davis should be elevated to the number two outside wide receiver role, yet again, that enabled him to accumulate 11 targets and 69 receiving yards in the two contests with Brown unavailable earlier in the year. While those numbers are particularly promising, Davis has flashed upside in this situation before as he absorbed a 20.0% target share and a 31.0% market share of the team air yards back in Week 5, both of which, open a path for a ceiling outcome that is required in daily fantasy tournament formats across the industry.

John Brown active today, as expected

John Brown will return for the Bills after missing one game. Josh Allen has a healthy trio of WRs, but the weather could cause some issues for the passing game today.

John Brown (foot) practices in full Wednesday

Brown returned to practice on Wednesday and was listed as a full participant, which is a positive sign for his availability in this Sunday's Week 8 matchup against the New England Patriots as he recovers from a nagging knee injury. In his absence, Stefon Diggs, Gabriel Davis, and Cole Beasley worked as quarterback Josh Allen's top receivers in three-wide sets, but Beasley was easily the biggest beneficiary of Brown being sidelined as he ran 44 routes on passing downs, logged an 84.3% snap share, and just barely trailed Diggs with 29.3% market share of the targets. The likely return of Brown will relegate Davis to a backup role once again, but Beasley's snap count should depend more on the availability of Dawson Knox and the rest of the tight end group since he runs such a large majority of his routes from the slot.

John Brown (knee) and Dawson Knox (calf) officially ruled out for Sunday

Brown and Knox were both observers at practice for a third straight day, and they've each officially been ruled out of Sunday's Week 7 matchup against the New York Jets due to their respective ailments. Knox has already missed two games this season, and in those contests, Tyler Kroft took over as the primary pass-catching tight end but has had mixed results for fantasy purposes. As for Brown, his absence is much more impactful and elevates Gabriel Davis to the number two outside receiver role that enabled him to accumulate nine targets for a 20.0% target share and a 31.0% market share of the team air yards in Week 5, which was the last time Brown was sidelined with his lingering knee injury.

John Brown (knee) and Dawson Knox (calf) don't practice again Thursday

Brown and Knox were both observers at practice for a second straight day with their respective ailments, putting both of their availabilities for Sunday's Week 7 matchup against the New York Jets into serious question. Knox has already missed two games this season, and in those contests, Tyler Kroft took over as the primary pass-catching tight end but had mixed results for fantasy purposes. As for Brown, his potential absence is much more impactful and would elevate Gabriel Davis to the number two outside receiver role that enabled him to accumulate nine targets for a 20.0% target share and a 31.0% market share of the team air yards in Week 5, which was the last time Brown was sidelined with his lingering knee injury.
