John Jenkins, Pierre Jackson, and Ryan Kelly have been waived by their respective teams
John Jenkins has been waived by the Suns. Pierre Jackson has been waived by the Mavericks. Lastly, Ryan Kelly was waived by the Hawks. John Jenkins was not getting much playing time with the plethora of guards that the Suns have. Pierre Jackson was expendable due to the fact that J.J. Barea is nearing a return. Ryan Kelly was waived to make the Korver trade with Cleveland work.
Tyson Chandler (concussion) ruled out against the Kings; Archie Goodwin (ankle) doubtful
Chandler will not be playing on Monday after suffering a concussion on Saturday. Jon Leuer will likely replace him in the starting lineup and is a strong punt play with his salary sub-4k on both major sites. If Leuer does get the start he should 28-32 minutes against the Kings. In 25 starts this season, Leuer is averaging 22.03 FanDuel fpts, providing us a solid floor in a game with the highest projected total (218). Archie Goodwin is doubtful with an ankle injury after exceeding 8x in his last two performances. With Goodwin expected to be out, Ronnie Price will get most of the minutes at PG and John Jenkins will be used as his backup. Price should be considered an elite punt play and Jenkins is a GPP dart throw.
Brandon Knight (hernia) is doubtful for Friday; Jon Leuer (ankle) has been ruled out
Knight is dealing with a hernia and is being listed as doubtful for Friday's game against the Wizards. John Jenkins started last week for Knight and could draw the start again. Jenkins is nice tournament option if he starts and can exceed value easily. Ronnie Price also started ten games earlier this season when Knight was on the shelf. Price does not have a huge ceiling but is a viable option with his asking price basically at a minimum across the industry. Once Knight is officially announced out, we will find out his replacement. Expect Devin Booker to also see an increased workload with Knight out of the lineup. Booker has his 40+ fpts in three out of his last five games. Jon Leuer is out with an ankle injury, leaving Mirza Teletovic as the first Suns big off the bench. Teletovic was battling an illness today but is no longer on the injury report. Teletovic did not play against the Bucks on Wednesday. Before that absence, Teletovic was averaging 26.74 fpts in his last five games.
John Jenkins returns to the bench with Tyson Chandler back in the lineup
Joffrey Lauvergne will come off the bench against the Timberwolves on Monday. Jenkins made the most of his two starts and should be considered the next time he is able to start. Tyson Chandler has been starting for most of the season, yet is still a boom-or-bust option. Chandler has an extremely low floor but also has 40+ fpts upside.
Suns starting lineup: Knight, Jenkins, Booker, Tucker, and Len
With John Leuer out of the lineup, P.J. Tucker will start at PF. Tucker is averaging 29.76 DKFP in his last six starts. Tucker is a viable option with the move to a different position. John Jenkins will start for the second consecutive game, he had 25 fantasy points against the Kings last night. Jenkins is a viable punt option but faces a tough defensive matchup, Boston is ranked top 10 in DvP and DRE against shooting guards.
Brandon Knight downgraded to doubtful; John Jenkins to start in his place
Brandon Knight is unlikely to play on Friday, John Jenkins will take his place in the starting lineup. Jenkins is a strong punt play with his salary at a minimum across the industry. Jenkins' only start of the season came when he was with the Mavs. Expect Jenkins to play well in one of the highest-scoring games of the night.
Waiver Wire: Chris Copeland signed by the Magic and John Jenkins signed by the Suns
Chris Copeland was waived by the Bucks and acquired by the Magic. John Jenkins was waived by the Mavs and has signed a contract with the Suns. Jenkins might make an impact later in the season but for tomorrow, he should not be considered.
John Jenkins cleared to play tonight
John Jenkins has passed the concussion protocol and will be able to play tonight against the Grizzlies. He is not really a DFS option but could see a little bit of action due to Devin Harris being out. Jenkins is pretty much only a scorer and would have a tough time exceeding value in whats projected to be a close game.
