Rookie goalie off to a flying start
The Richmond Hill, Ontario native has lead the surging St. Louis Blues with a 10-1-1 record, 1.82 GAA and .927 SV%. As a team, the Blues have won seven consecutive contests as Vladimir Tarasenko has really stepped up his game alongside two-way stud Ryan O'Reilly. Binnington is just a modest $8,000 on FanDuel and a mid-range option on DraftKings ($7,800) on a typical night where there is no must-have netminder. Arizona is averaging just 2.69 goals per game on home ice and will find it challenging to crack a confident St. Louis team. Binnington is a great option in all formats.
Rookie goalie coming off shutout in debut
Jordan Binnington stymied the Philadelphia Flyers on the road last time out as he made 25 saves in route to a shutout. The 25 year old performed admirably in the American Hockey League for the San Antonio Rampage before his call up, posting a 2.08 GAA and .927 save percentage. Although Montreal averages the fourth-most shots per game (33.8 SF/G), they are middle of the pack in scoring (3.00 GF/G). St. Louis for whatever reason has been awful on home ice, but a lot of that can be attributed to Jake Allen. Binnington could build off his first win and is an interesting target in tournaments.
