Josh Hill Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections
Josh Hill (Concussion) Does Not Have an Injury Designation for Sunday
Hill is cleared to play, bringing no injury designation into the weekend.
Josh Hill (Concussion), Austin Carr (Ankle) Limited in Practice Wednesday
Hill will need to pass the concussion protocol before returning, so his status is in question. Carr has been out since Week 8, and his limited participation is a positive step towards playing. He started the two games prior to his injury, totaling 1 catch on 4 targets for 9 yards. He should not be expected to be a viable fantasy option.
Alvin Kamara (Knee/Ankle), Josh Hill (Calf) Limited in Practice Wednesday
Kamara is progressing in his return, practicing in a limited fashion Wednesday. His status this week is still in question.
Jared Cook (Ankle), Tre'Quan Smith (Ankle) Ruled Out Sunday
Smith will miss his third straight game, while Cook misses his second. Josh Hill will be TE1, while Austin Carr, Deonte Harris and Lil'Jordan Humphrey will compete for the WR3 targets.
The Saints Promoted TE Dan Arnold from Practice Squad, Waived TE Brian Parker
Arnold may see the field Sunday vs. the Bears, but Josh Hill is expected to garner the majority of the work at the tight end position for the Saints with Jared Cook sidelined. Hill is nothing more than a salary-saving tournament dart throw against the elite Bears defense.
Keith Kirkwood listed as out for Sunday; Ben Watson questionable despite being listed as out earlier in the day, still expected to sit
Keith Kirkwood listed as out for Sunday. Michael Thomas will do most of the heavy lifting among the WRs, with Ted Ginn operating as a deep threat and Tre'Quan Smith/Austin Carr providing some depth. It's possible we see some extra slot snaps out of Carr, but the Saints can move Michael Thomas around in formations so we'll very likely see some sort of committee behind the top two WRs. As for Ben Watson, he's listed as questionable but wasn't able to practice this week and was reported as out earlier in the day, so it still seems likely he sits. Josh Hill has seen more playing time this year, but Dan Arnold has been utilized more as a pass-catcher when he's been on the field. Both TEs have GPP appeal on a two-game slate, but I'd give Arnold the slight nod.
Josh Hill suffers broken fibula
Hill had been taking over as the dominant TE in terms of number of snaps seen with the Saints offense but broke his fibula yesterday and will likely miss the remainder of the season. Coby Fleener will obviously see an increased role with Hill out.
Josh Hill out against Falcons
The Saints' tight end had been questionable all week with an ankle injury. Coby Fleener will look to finally have his breakout game against a susceptible Falcons pass defense that Football Outsiders ranks 30th in the league. Drew Brees has said the issue may be due to lack of time working together, but has expressed confidence that they would start to connect sooner rather than later. The Saints want to get their new tight end more involved with the offense, and he did manage 8 targets last week. If there was ever a game for Fleener to establish himself as a strong weapon in the New Orleans offense, a home game vs Atlanta might be one of the best.
