Julian Edelman Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections
Julian Edelman placed on IR, out at least 3 weeks
Julian Edelman has been placed on IR, meaning he is out for at least three weeks. He had a knee procedure done earlier this week, and it was already known he would miss some time. The Patriots are also without N'Keal Harry Week 8, leaving Cam Newton with few weapons offensively.
Julian Edelman (knee) ruled out for Sunday; N'Keal Harry (concussion) still not practicing
Edelman underwent a procedure on his ailing knee on Thursday morning, and according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, will miss "some period of time", effectively ruling him out of Sunday's Week 8 matchup against the Buffalo Bills at a minimum. Meanwhile, Harry is still hasn't cleared the NFL's concussion protocol and missed his second consecutive practice, putting his status for this weekend's contest in doubt and making it possible the Patriots are forced to trot out Damiere Byrd, Jakobi Meyers, and Gunner Olszewski as their top three wide receivers on Sunday afternoon. Following Harry's exit from last week's loss, Meyers ended up logging an 80.9% snap rate and running 25 routes on passing downs, so he may be the preferred punt option in tournament formats considering he also accumulated six targets and a 68.0% market share of the team's air yards.
Julian Edelman active Sunday, as expected; Devin Asiasi inactive
As usual, Julian Edelman will be active after being listed on the injury report as questionable. Devin Asiasi is a healthy scratch, and rookie TE Dalton Keene will make his debut.
Julian Edelman active Sunday
As expected, Edelman is active despite being listed as questionable. He should function in his normal role as a top option for the Patriots' passing game.
Julian Edelman listed as questionable for Monday
Edelman is officially listed as questionable for Monday night, but it is worth considering that Edelman is very often listed as questionable, and almost always seems to play. He does still seem likely to play, but if out, N'Keal Harry and Damiere Byrd would both see big target shares. It is also worth monitoring if Cam Newton plays (which looks unlikely currently), as the passing offense looked terrible last week with the combination of Brian Hoyer and Jarrett Stidham at QB.
N'Keal Harry, Julian Edelman both active Week 3; Dalton Keene inactive
Harry and Edelman are both active Week 3 and will be Cam Newton's top targets. Both have 18 targets and 13 receptions through 2 games, leading the Patriots' offense by a significant margin, although Edelman holds a 236-111 edge in yards. Dalton Keene was projected to return from injury this week, but was a surprising scratch. Ryan Izzo will remain the top TE and projects to have a modest role.
Julian Edelman, N'Keal Harry Active; James White Inactive Week 2
Edelman and Harry are both active, as has been expected. James White is a surprise inactive, reportedly due to a family tragedy. His absence opens up significant targets from the running back position, of which Rex Burkhead should absorb the majority.
Julian Edelman, N'Keal Harry expected to play; Courtland Sutton has "good chance", will workout pregame
Julian Edelman and N'Keal Harry are both expected to play Sunday night, neither of which is a particular surprise. Courtland Sutton has a "good chance", but will need to workout pregame before being cleared. Sutton missed Week 1 and was considered 50/50 to play as of a few days ago, so he is clearly progressing. He also worked out pregame last week before being scratched, so he will definitely need to be monitored. Fortunately, the Broncos are in the morning wave of games, giving you time to make any needed adjustments. Drew Lock would benefit from the return of his top weapon, while Jerry Jeudy would see fewer targets but also less focus from the opposing defense.
Patriots WR Julian Edelman (Shoulder) is Active for Tonight's Game Vs. the Titans
Edelman has been playing through this same shoulder injury with the questionable tag for quite some time now, so he was in no obvious danger of missing tonight's game. However, it is clear the injury has impacted his production; the former Super Bowl MVP has only 10 catches for 107 yards in his last three games. He is projected to lead the Pats' receiving corps tonight with a 25% target share against a Titans defense that is more susceptible through the air than on the ground, ranking 21st in DVOA against the pass.
Julian Edelman (Knee, Shoulder) Questionable for Saturday
Edelman will officially be listed as questionable for Saturday, although he is expected to play. He has been slowed over the past three games, totaling 10 catches for 107 yards, but he frequently raises the level of his play during the playoffs. Tom Brady will lean on Edelman if needed Saturday.
