K.J. McDaniels Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections
Marcus Thornton waived by Brooklyn
The Brooklyn Nets have waived Marcus Thornton whom they acquired on Wednesday in a trade with the Wizards. The Nets also acquired K.J. McDaniels and likely needed the roster spot. McDaniels is a nice addition to the Nets but lacks offensive polish. Marcus Thornton will head to the waiver wire and hope to be scooped up by a team in contention for a title. With New Orleans also looking for a guard, there is a slight chance they look to acquire his services.
K.J. McDaniels traded from Houston to the Brooklyn Nets
McDaniels was an unessential part of the Rockets rotation and will likely get more playing time as a result of this deal to the Nets - he might have some DFS viability down the road with Bojan Bogdanovich having been dealt.
Donatas Motiejunas to start instead of K.J. McDaniels on Thursday
Motiejunas will return to the starting lineup after coming off the bench on Wednesday. He is a boom-or-bust option that has the ability to get 30+ fantasy points. On a short slate, Motiejunas offers salary relief at forward. He is averaging 1.25 FP/min when he plays over 20 minutes a game. If he can stay in the game he does have some nice potential. K.J. McDaniels is no longer an option off the bench.
K.J. McDaniels starting for Donatas Motiejunas on Wednesday
McDaniels will be making his first start of the season for the Rockets against the Mavs. McDaniel has seen his minutes trending upwards and should see over 20 minutes tonight. McDaniels should be able to exceed value on his sub-$4k salary but is a low-end option with James Harden taking all the usage. If McDaniels is able to pick up some peripherals, he should be able to return 5x or better on Wednesday.
