Kailer Yamamoto Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections

The top line for the Edmonton Oilers is in a great spot tonight.

Sometimes you simply play the best player in the world. Tonight, Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers are in a pretty good matchup against the Pittsburgh Penguins in a game that should have a bunch of scoring. McDavid will line up with Kailer Yamamoto and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and will likely face Matt Murray in the opposing net. Murray has struggled in the early part of this season with just a 3.65 GAA and .893 SV%, but his numbers last season were also bad with a 2.92 GAA and .907 SV%. Murray hasn't been the same since 2016-2017 with concussions derailing him along the way. It's a perfect spot for McDavid to get on the scoresheet multiple times.

Injury to Ty Rattie opens door for Yamamoto

Ty Rattie, who had been skating on Edmonton's top line with Connor McDavid and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, is doubtful for tonight's contest, so it seems Kailer Yamamoto will get the coveted spot playing alongside Connor McDavid, the best player in the National Hockey League. Yamamoto is near the minimum price on both DraftKings ($3,100) and FanDuel ($3,400). Any sort of cheap exposure to McDavid is worth it, making Yamamoto is a nice filler in all formats.

McDavid's new wing-man offers tremendous value

With Leon Draisaitl out for the time being, Kailer Yamamoto steps into one of the most advantageous spots in all of hockey; playing alongside Connor McDavid. Edmonton selected Yamamoto 22nd overall in this spring's NHL Draft and the 19-year-old looks ready to contribute right away. He picked up an assist and unloaded six shots on goal against Ottawa in his first game as a member of the top forward line and flashed plenty of offensive upside in the preseason, where he potted five goals and added a pair of assists in just six games. Pairing him with Mr. McDavid is an excellent way to soften the average cap hit.
