Kendrick Bourne Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections
NEP WR Kendrick Bourne (toe) is listed questionable for Week 7.
NEP WR Kendrick Bourne (toe) is listed questionable for Week 7.
NE WR Jakobi Meyers (knee) did not practice Wednesday.
NE WR Jakobi Meyers (knee) did not practice Wednesday.
NEP QB Mac Jones (illness) did not practice Thursday. RB Pierre Strong (shoulder) was limited.
The illness is a new reason, and not the back everyone was concerned about prior. We'll see what happens tomorrow, but we're not adjusting the projections just yet.
NEP WR Kendrick Bourne activated off COVID list and expected to be available Sunday
Kendrick Bourne has been activated off the COVID list and is expected to be available to play Sunday against the Buffalo Bills. Bourne should play a major role in the Patriots passing attack with Nelson Agholor out due to a concussion. Jakobi Meyers will still be the primary option for Mac Jones but Bourne will be number two and can be considered as a value option.
NE TE Jonnu Smith and WR Kendrick Bourne listed questionable Sunday
The Patriots listed their injury report with 15 questionable players, and all of them had three straight limited practices; clearly they are not taking the process very seriously. The two skill players listed were Smith and Bourne, but both are expected to play. The Chargers pass defense is stout, and although Bourne and Smith are getting more work, they'll be tough to consider in a crowded Patriots pass catcher group.
Kendrick Bourne 2021 Fantasy Outlook
Per RotoGrinders NFL player projections, Kendrick Bourne is expected to be the fantasy WR84. He's being drafted on Underdog Fantasy as WR107 at pick 239, compared to his RotoGrinders ranking of 176 as of July. We currently expect a 13% target share which amounts to a projection of 70 targets (Rank 84) and 533 receiving yards (Rank 81) during the 17 week fantasy season.
Bourne ran 444 routes a season ago and yielded just 4 deep targets from San Francisco's rag tag crew of QBs. His average target distance was under 10 yards and he accumulated just 1.5 yards per route run. It's hard to look at his profile and get excited, and based on ADP that seems to be how everyone feels. For what it's worth the RG projections are above that ADP, but also at WR 84 he's well out of draft consideration in the vast majority of formats.
Kendrick Bourne tests positive for COVID-19, ruled out for Thursday night
The 49ers received the results of Bourne's positive COVID-19 test early Wednesday morning, and he has immediately begun his mandatory isolation from the team. This effectively makes him ineligible to play in Thursday night's Week 9 matchup against the Green Bay Packers, and he'll more than likely be placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list prior to the deadline as the Niners will need to make several roster moves to field a competent team tomorrow evening. Even before this news, the Niners were slated to head into Week 9 decimated at multiple offensive skill positions since George Kittle and Jimmy Garoppolo are now injured reserve candidates, while Deebo Samuel, Raheem Mostert, Tevin Coleman, and Jeff Wilson Jr. are all still sidelined with their respective ailments. If Richie James is unable to play following his most recent one-game absence, San Fransisco would be down to a receiver group consisting of Brandon Aiyuk, Trent Taylor, River Cracraft, and Kevin White, who would need to be elevated from the practice squad.
49ers WR Emmanuel Sanders (Ribs) Will Play Sunday Vs. Cardinals
We reported that the veteran wide receiver looked to be on the more probable side of questionable yesterday, and now Sanders is fully expected to play through his painful injury today against the Cardinals. Sanders did not practice at all this week, so he might not play his full compliment of snaps, making him a risky fantasy option today.
DFS players who were looking at Deebo Samuel as a value play in cash games and tournaments should adjust their rosters. Because the 49ers are banged up with TE George Kittle, RB Matt Breida, and K Robbie Gould also out, Samuel could still have a significant role today. The Cardinals, who you know hemorrhage fantasy points to every position if you have played any fantasy football this year, is a phenomenal matchup. Samuel flashed his upside last week with an 8-112 line and will see drastically lower ownership with Sanders active, making him a more interesting tournament play, especially on DraftKings, if you think Samuel still sees extra playing time.
49ers WR Emmanuel Sanders (Ribs) Plans to Play Sunday
The veteran wide receiver now looks to be on the more probable side of questionable. According to a piece in the San Francisco Chronicle, Head Coach Kyle Shanahan is encouraged by Sanders' progress and he plans to play on Sunday despite not having practiced all week. DFS players who were looking at Deebo Samuel and Kendrick Bourne as potential value options this weekend would be wise to have a contingency plan.
Emmanuel Sanders (Ribs) Day-to-Day, Likely Game-Time Decision Sunday
Sanders is considered day-to-day at this point with a rib injury suffered Monday night. Deebo Samuel had a season-high 11 targets last night and would benefit the most if Sanders was out. Kendrick Bourne also saw a season-high 8 targets.
