Kevin Martin Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections
Kevin Martin (illness) ruled out Sunday
Martin has been ruled out of Game 4 and did not play in Game 3. Kyle Anderson has been seeing the minutes instead of him but is a low-end tournament play today. There are five games on the slate and better value plays available. With the Spurs projected to win this game by 13 points, there is no telling if Anderson will be able to play over 15 minutes.
Aldridge, Duncan, Parker, Ginobili, Leonard, and West all OUT for Spurs tonight
Boban time? He's certainly on the list of values as the Spurs are resting their key players tonight in the season finale. Kyle Anderson, Jonathan Simmons, Patty Mills, and Kevin Martin are also worth a look. But then again so is pretty much everyone in the league tonight if we're being honest.
Aldridge, Diaw, Ginobili, Leonard, Green, and Parker all OUT for Spurs tonight
The Spurs are resting their core group of players tonight although strangely Tim Duncan is not listed on their injury report - he shouldn't get much playing time tonight however and should be avoided at all costs. The Spurs we want to target are Kyle Anderson, Patty Mills, David West, Jonathan Simmons, Kevin Martin, and Boban Marjanovich. All are appealing due to their expected playing time and salary but predicting exactly where the fantasy scoring will come from will be tough. We'd expect Kyle Anderson, Patty Mills, and David West to lead the way in terms of production but the other three have all shown huge upside in the past and are worthy of consideration in GPP's.
Kevin Martin and Kyle Anderson starting on Friday
Kevin Martin will replace Danny Green while Kyle Anderson replaces Kawhi Leonard in the starting lineup. Both players are minimum salaried players, so they should have some upside in this matchup. The Spurs are still double-digit favorites in a game that is projected to be low-scoring. Don't have huge expectations of Anderson, but Martin might try to use this as an opportunity to make a name for himself on his new team.
Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili available for tonight
Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili will both be available tonight after resting on Tuesday. Duncan and Ginobili are both low-end DFS options but deserve some consideration on a four-game slate. Ginobili is likely to see the least amount of minutes with Kevin Martin officially available. Martin is not available in DFS so the first time to use him will be on Saturday.
Kevin Martin to sign with the Spurs
Kevin Martin, who was waived the Timberwolves, will be signing with the Spurs. Martin will have a tough time being a consistent DFS option on a loaded team.
Zach LaVine confirmed as the starter at SG tonight
Zach LaVine will be back in the starting lineup tonight for Tayshaun Prince. LaVine has flashed a high-upside but is currently only a cash game play with Kevin Martin also in the lineup. LaVine has scored over 24 FPs in 6 out of his last 7 games, providing a solid floor. Avery Bradley is known as a strong defender, which will likely make LaVine under-owned in tournaments.
Kevin Martin (wrist) will be available to play tonight
Kevin Martin is available tonight against the Grizzlies. The Wolves as a whole are a risky target, with Gorgui Dieng and Karl-Anthony Towns being the only viable options on that side of the ball. Dieng has a solid match-up as the PF against an undersized Zach Randolph, while Towns will benefit immensely from Marc Gasol's absence. Towns is a very nice tournament play that should be lightly owned due to his price increase and tough on-paper match-up. Dieng is probably the better $/point target for cash games, but avoiding the Wolves is probably wise in terms of H2H/50-50 contests.
Kevin Garnett, Nikola Pekovic ruled out; Kevin Martin probable
Kevin Martin has been upgraded to probable after missing the previous nine games with a wrist injury. Martin's return puts a slight damper on Zach LaVine's DFS value. Martin should see about 12-15 minutes tonight against the Grizzlies and is a low-upside play. Kevin Garnett will miss his tenth consecutive game and Pekovic will miss his sixth in a row. Karl-Anthony Towns and Gorgui Dieng have both played well in their absence and should be considered elite options tonight. KAT has averaged about 34 minutes over his last 12 games and has a double-double in eleven out of those twelve games. Gorgui Dieng also has had a double-double in six of his last seven games while averaging over 36 minutes.
Kevin Martin (wrist) expected to play on Friday
Kevin Martin has missed the last nine games with a wrist injury but was back at practice today. If he feels fine again tomorrow, Martin will play against the Grizzlies. With Kevin Martin returning, Zach LaVine's DFS value will take a hit. There is still a possibility that Martin gets traded with the deadline at 3 PM EST tomorrow. If Martin does get traded, LaVine would become a huge fantasy asset for the rest of the season.
