Lars Eller Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections

Third line center continues to be underrated

While many will gravitate toward Washington's top-six, the third line should not be overlooked especially in fully-loaded Washington stacks. Washington has won five games in a row and Eller has been a factor in several of them, collecting a goal and three assists with 12 shots on goal during this stretch. On Eller's wing is speedy Carl Hagelin who has a point in back to back games, slowly finding his game. Eller sees consistent ice time (16-plus minutes) and power play time on the second unit and could really shine against New Jersey's lack of depth. Lars makes for a cheap, overlooked option at center.

Green Light to Shoot is Even Greener

Alex Ovechkin has never been shy to put the puck on net, but he's elevated this approach to insane levels lately with 16 shots on goal in his last two games. This is largely due to the absence of Evgeny Kuznetsov and T.J. Oshie, shifting even more of the offensive load to Ovi. His linemates Lars Eller and Tom Wilson aren't offensive threats, so I expect #8 to continue to pepper the net. A matchup with the Canadiens on the road is inviting as Carey Price has been brutal at home (3.42 GAA, .878 SV%).

Next to no one will be on this bottom of the barrel center

If looking for a deep, deep flyer, there have been far worse options than Lars Eller, who logged a season-high 20 minutes last time out. Additionally, Eller took six shots on goal, which is also a season-high. Although Evgeny Kuznetsov is probable for tonight, Eller has been influential recently for a Washington team that has won six of their last seven contests. Lars has been seeing consistent time on the power play which should pick apart a Montreal team that has been by far the worst team short-handed since the All-Star break. Eller has three goals and two assists in his last seven games and should be excited to take on his old team. At a punt price of $4,500 on both FanDuel and DraftKings, Lars makes for an interesting tournament target at center. After all, Eller has quietly gathered 37 points in 73 games for the Capitals.
