High Leverage, Low Upside

It's almost laughable how bad the Marlins lineup is at this point of the season with their two best hitters Brian Anderson and Garrett Cooper out. Still, despite how terrible Miami is offensively, we have to remember how volatile baseball is. Steven Matz may legitimately see ownership north of 50% in GPPs on multi-SP sites which makes stacking against him a strong game theory approach despite how poor the Marlins are offensively. If you don't want to get this ugly, stacking the Phillies against Patrick Corbin is a similar strategy with more capable hitters going up against a better pitcher.

Cheap Coors Exposure

Look, it's generally not an easy thing to find cheap Coors exposure, but we have a spot with Brinson today where we can take advantage of a cheap bat in Coors. Brinson on the year has been hitting the ball decently (.405 CXwOBA and 327 air distance vs. RHP), but it just hasn't really culminated in anything from a productivity standpoint. Marquez on the other side doesn't really have fantastic numbers this year. Marquez owns a 4.43 xFIP, average walks and K's and doesn't really do anything spectacular that you really need to worry about. Brinson is going to be a stud one of these days, and a matchup in Coors is just the type of situation you can really take advantage of his low pricetag.

Cheap Coors Exposure

Paying 3.6k for a good player in Coors should be enough of a reason to play this guy, but if you need more convincing here you go. The biggest concern we have with Brinson is his K rate which is mostly negated by Anderson's subpar K rate vs righties (19.8%). On the year Brinsons wOBA (.284) is a full 150 points lower than his CXwOBA (.429) vs. LHP and he still owns an ISO of .167. He is mashing the ball, should be in the 6 hole, isn't going to be that highly owned, and is a legit player. Don't overthink thi and throw him into your lineup

Underpriced Stud Rookie

You may not know a lot about Brinson, but this kid is gonna be a stud. In AAA last year he owned a .231 ISO and a .410 wOBA. This kid has speed and can hit for power and there's a decent chance he could be batting at the top of the order against Suter. We don't have a huge sample size on Suter, but if we assume that he is even an average pitcher, then we can assume that Brinson is very under priced considering he is playing a real hitters ballpark. It's never a sexy thing to play a Marlins player, but considering this is a Sale and Coors slate, this may be the best spot to save some money.

Note: Brinson is batting 7th, but is still a great GPP play

It's one of the more pitcher friendly environments to begin with and Lester eliminates the platoon advantage for the remaining Miami power threat (Justin Bour 83 wRC+ career vs LHP). Lester is coming off a down year with an ERA and estimators all around four, but his xwOBA (.301) was 25 points below his actual one with an 85.4 mph aEV and 23.6 K%, suggesting that the tank is not empty just yet. Lewis Brinson was "the get" for Miami this off-season (in the Yelich trade). He's posted a 140+ wRC+ and .230+ ISO in over 400 PAs at AAA for the Brewers since 2016 and is a bat of interest here if he bats near the top of the lineup. He's fairly cheap on either site ($2.1K on FanDuel). Alternatively, Jose Urena is just not a very daily fantasy friendly pitcher. He can't be rostered due to a 15.6 K%, but it's difficult to load up against him because he doesn't allow a lot of hard contact (85.4 mph aEV). However, his .340 wOBA was 19 points above his actual league average wOBA (.321) and players are probably going to want at least some Chicago exposure even in a difficult park with questionable weather conditions in Detroit. Top Cubs' bats against RHP last year were Kris Bryant (145 wRC+, .249 ISO) and Anthony Rizzo (135 wRC+, .230 ISO), predictably. Ian Happ (118 wRC+, .286 ISO), Willson Contreras (114 wRC+, .214 ISO) and Kyle Schwarber (109 wRC+, .276 ISO) all exhibit strong power numbers as well.
