Marlon Mack and Mike Strachan have been listed inactive for Saturday's game against the Arizona Cardinals. Mack remains the odd man out in the Indianapolis backfield due to his inability to play special teams. The Colts will go with Jonathan Taylor, Nyheim Hines, and Deon Jackson as the active running backs. Strachan will be inactive, even with Zach Pascal a last minute addition to the COVID list. This shows just how far down the depth chart Strachan really is.

Both Mack and Strachan were expected to be healthy scratches tonight as they have been most of the season. Mack just doesn't have a place in the offense behind Jonathan Taylor and Nyheim Hines and doesn't play special teams like Deon Jackson. There was no need for Strachan to be active tonight with the bulk of the Colts receiving corps healthy.

Marlon Mack continues to be a healthy scratch as the Colts elect to go with Jonathan Taylor as the main back and Nyheim Hines as the change of pace back. Mike Strachan was expected to serve as wide receiver depth and his absence should not be DFS relevant.

Marlon Mack has officially been listed inactive for Thursday's game against the New York Jets. After failing to be traded at the deadline earlier this week Mack is now a healthy scratch. Mack wasn't expected to play much of a role tonight so his absence should not affect the slate too much. The Colts will elect to go with Jonathan Taylor as the lead back with Nyheim Hines available to back him up. Taylor is the highest projected player on the slate tonight and should be considered in most lineups and Hines isn't a bad option as a contrarian play with the potential to vulture a touchdown away from Taylor.

As expected, Wentz was officially ruled in and will start for the Colts against the Titans. Wentz's ankles apparently are okay, but he'll be nearly impossible to trust due to his hampered mobility and reduced practice time. The bigger news was that Mack was a healthy scratch, a pretty big surprise seeing as he was worked in last week. This should mean potentially more work for Jonathan Taylor, with Nyheim Hines playing the pass down role. Jordan Wilkins is active and may siphon some work, but it's certainly expected to be the Taylor show for the Colts.

The Colts' initial fears were confirmed when an MRI confirmed that Mack did indeed suffer a ruptured Achilles in Week 1's loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars, and he'll eventually be placed on the long-term injured reserve, ending his 2020 season. While the injury is unfortunate, Mack's absence in the backfield will clear the way for Jonathan Taylor to be the Colts' lead running back, and he even made a few impressive plays in the passing game on Sunday afternoon, which may keep Nyheim Hines off the field more often as the season progresses. Until then, however, Hines will be an interesting, game script dependent option in daily fantasy formats as he out-snapped Taylor with 39 total snaps and accumulated 15 touches in yesterday's closely-contested loss.
