Martavis Bryant Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections

Raiders officially signed RB C.J. Anderson and placed WR Martavis Bryant on IR

With Bryant on IR, the Raiders will continue to feed Jared Cook, Jordy Nelson, Marcell Ateman and Seth Roberts as their pass-catching corps, a unit that lacks a ton of upside. Doug Martin is a little banged up currently, so it's definitely possible that Anderson works his way into a role this coming week on early-downs, with Jalen Richard still dominating passing-down duties.

Martavis Bryant (knee) officially inactive Sunday

Bryant is officially inactive and won't play in Sunday's matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs due to a knee injury that's now forced him to miss three consecutive games. In his and Jordy Nelson's absences, Marcell Ateman has emerged as David Carr's go-to target, as 24.5% of his attempts have gone Ateman's way. The Raiders are projected to be in a massively negative game script, so Ateman could be in line for a few additional targets at a bargain basement price tag across the industry, particularly on FanDuel where he's close to the dead minimum salary.

Martavis Bryant (knee) now doubtful for Sunday

Bryant has officially been downgraded to doubtful and appears unlikely to play in Sunday's matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs due to a knee injury that's already forced him to miss two consecutive games. In his and Jordy Nelson's absences, Marcell Ateman has emerged as David Carr's go-to target, as 24.5% of his attempts have gone Ateman's way. The Raiders are projected to be in a massively negative game script, so Ateman could be in line for a few additional targets at a bargain basement price tag across the industry, particularly on FanDuel.

Martavis Bryant (knee) not practicing Wednesday for the Raiders

Martavis Bryant (knee) did not practice Wednesday for the Raiders. Bryant has missed the team's last two games due to the knee injury, and appears truly questionable to suit up for Week 13 as well. In Bryant's absence the Raiders have spread the passing targets among the likes of Seth Roberts, Jared Cook and Marcell Ateman among others. No Raiders wideouts make for appealing plays this week against the Chiefs due to their inconsistent workloads and general offensive struggles.

Jordy Nelson (knee) listed as questionable for Sunday, Martavis Bryant (knee) ruled out for the Raiders

Jordy Nelson (knee) is listed as questionable for Sunday, while Martavis Bryant (knee) has already been ruled out for the Raiders. The team is running extremely thin when it comes to pass-catchers, with the trading of Amari Cooper, the loss of Brandon LaFell to IR and Bryant out another week. Seth Roberts and Jared Cook appear to be in line for the most passing-game targets this week, with Nelson also seeing his fair share of looks if he can take the field. Regardless, the Raiders offense as a whole is best to be avoided this week in a difficult road matchup against a stout Ravens defense.

WR Jordy Nelson is questionable for Week 11; WR Martavis Bryant has been ruled out

Both wideouts are nursing knee injuries and the Raiders have also activated practice squad receiver Saeed Blacknall. Brandon LaFell and Seth Roberts would play in 2-WR sets if Nelson can't suit up in Week 11 and probably see close to 100% of snaps, while Jared Cook could be the biggest beneficiary from a target perspective in this scenario. However, the Raiders are attached to a meager 18-point implied team total on the road at Arizona so there would certainly be some risk of downside.

Martavis Bryant Suffers PCL Injury

WR Martavis Bryant suffered a possible PCL tear. He has been a disappointment from a fantasy perspective, but perhaps this gives another Oakland WR a chance to step up for extra snaps and targets.

Raid for Value

UPDATE: The absence of of Allen Robinson brings Taylor Gabriel (FD) and Anthony Miller (DK) into consideration on their respective sites. I still side with the Raiders receivers as preferred plays but the Bears receivers can be used as pivots. ///

The Raiders will turn to Jordy Nelson and Martavis Bryant as their primary pass catchers with Amari Cooper out of town. Both of these guys are priced low enough where you can consider them core plays on their respective sites on a week absent of slam dunk value. Raiders offensive coordinator, Greg Olson, did talk up Martavis a bit after the Cooper trade went down and Tavis is the guy that has the highest upside as the 33 year old Jordy Nelson doesn’t have break away speed. Martavis offers a significant discount from Jordy on DraftKings and is my preferred option there. Both guys are priced at $5,300 on FanDuel making it a more difficult decision. Jordy has shown a better rapport with Carr in the red zone this season and I’m siding with Jordy’s higher touchdown equity on FanDuel.

Injuries and Trades Opening Up Opportunities On This Team

Oakland is coming back from its bye week down a couple of players at the skill positions, with Marshawn Lynch on IR and Amari Cooper now in Dallas. This should open things up for the remaining players, who are priced down due to Oakland’s early-season struggles and now could be value plays. Jalen Richard is a cheap RB to target, particularly on full PPR sites, with 31 receptions and 253 receiving yards in six games this season. There are a number of reasonable options at Wide Receiver, with Jordy Nelson carrying a reasonable 3 receiving TDs on the year so far, Martavis Bryant now moving into the role as the second Wide Receiver, and slot receiver Seth Roberts coming into plays as a dirt-cheap option if he can cleared to play this week.

Martavis Bryant (illness) active Sunday

Martavis Bryant popped up on the injury report midweek due to illness, but will be active Sunday against the Seahawks in London. Evidently the illness wasn't significant enough to rule Bryant out for the contest, so expect him to see his usual target share from Derek Carr against an exploitable Seahawks secondary.
