Mats Zuccarello Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections

This team has stacked their top line.

The New York Rangers have stacked their top line as of late, with the few players worth stacking a line with. Mika Zibanejad, Mats Zuccarello and Chris Kreider make up the top line for the Rangers as they host the Los Angeles Kings. Additionally, this line plays together on the top power play unit. This gives the entire line full-game correlation and elite upside. Over the last month, the Kings have allowed 62.8 CA/60 which is bottom 5 in the NHL which is encouraging for the Rangers.

This centre leads his low-scoring team in points.

The New York Rangers have stacked their top line with what little offensive talent they have. Mika Zibanejad is centering Mats Zuccarello and Chris Kreider, and the trio also play on the top power play unit together which gives them full-game correlation and elite upside on a three-game slate. They visit the New Jersey Devils, a team that in January has allowed 59.87 CA/60 which is the 9th most and their 45.83 CF% ranks 29th. The Rangers struggle to score with a 27th ranked 2.73 GF/GP, but the matchup is decent enough that they should be able to put the puck in the net.

This winger leads his team in goals with a great matchup.

The New York Rangers host the Philadelphia Flyers who are on the tail-end of a back to back. The Flyers defeated the Winnipeg Jets last night, which bodes well for the Rangers as the Flyers should be tired. Chris Kreider, Mats Zuccarello and Brett Howden are playing together as the Rangers top line but it is a Kreider/Zuccarello mini-stack that is the most appealing. Kreider leads the team in goals with 22, Zucc leads the team in points with 44 and the two are leading the team in shots. Additionally, they play on the top power play unit together which gives them further correlation.

This winger has started to score in bunches

Mats Zuccarello scored just 10 goals in his first 65 games. In his last 10, he has scored six while firing 2.9 shots per game which is an increase on his 2.24 shots per game for the season. He is playing on the second line with Kevin Hayes and recently recalled rookie Filip Chytil. This is a cheap line stack to allow you to fit some of the more expensive lines on the slate. Hayes and Zuccarello play on the same power play unit which makes the two-man mini stack a viable play, but including Chytil really helps in the salary relief department. The Rangers are in Washington to take on the Capitals and the struggling Braden Holtby. Holtby has just a 3.03 goals against average and a .906 save percentage so while the Rangers are out of the playoffs, they have a pretty good matchup.

This winger is in a prime spot for a big game

Sure, the top line for the New York Rangers may see a lot of Jonathan Toews, but given that this game is being played in New York, Alain Vigneault can avoid this matchup as much as he can. Mats Zuccarello is playing alongside J.T. Miller and Mika Zibanejad and this is actually a great spot for the line. Jeff Glass is expected in net for the Chicago Blackhawks and while his .917 save percentage seems okay, he has a brutal 3.46 goals against average as he has allowed seven goals against in his two starts. If Chicago gives up as many shots as they have been lately against the Rangers tonight, Glass is in big trouble. This line stays together on the top power play unit, giving them elite upside in this matchup.

Big Potential In The Big Apple

If you are looking to maximize the potential of a line stack tonight, look towards the top line of New York which features Mika Zibanejad, Rick Nash, and Mats Zuccarello. They draw a great matchup against a weak Islanders squad that allowed the second most scoring chances on the road last season among available teams tonight. Also featured on New York's top power play unit, this trio should be very active on the man advantage tonight against an Islanders' penalty kill that has surrendered at least one power play goal in four of their first six games this season. In a game that should play at a fast pace between two poor defensive teams, loading up on the top line for New York could pay major dividends tonight.
