Nikola Jokic goes scoreless in win

It's not often you'll see a guy go scoreless and lead his team in plus-minus at +21. Jokic's scoring is way down so far this year with just seven points in the opener, but he gets a pass for that one against Rudy Gobert. This one? Well, who knows? Whatever the case, Jokic is still the focal point of this offense and he should be an elite fantasy asset.

  • Nikola Jokic gets 12/8/7 in uneven line Wed

It was a mixed start to the season for Jokic, who also hit one 3-pointer with four turnovers and zero free throw attempts. Rudy Gobert tends to have a chilling effect on opposing centers, of course, and we're expecting a better outing vs. Willie Cauley-Stein and the Kings on Saturday.

  • Nikola Jokic scores 12 in loss

Maybe a bit of fatigue is setting in after a long couple weeks, as Jokic hit just 5-of-16 from the field and 2-of-4 from the line. He normally has stellar shooting percentages, so his fantasy owners have nothing to worry about. He's one of our favorite targets at the end of the first round of 9-category leagues.

  • Nikola Jokic (elbow) posts 19/7/4 in 24 mins

Jokic's full repertoire was on display tonight, and it's exactly what fantasy owners wanted to see after he rested a sore elbow earlier in the week. He shot a respectable 32.4 percent from downtown last season and seems to have worked on his range this summer -- through three preseason games, he's a combined 5-of-6 from deep.

  • Nikola Jokic (elbow) will play Sunday vs. SA

Jokic did not take the court on Wednesday to rest a minor elbow issue, but he'll be back out there tonight, so this clearly isn't anything to worry about. He was a top-20 player last year and he should only continue to get better in his age-22 season, so he's certainly someone to consider swooping up towards the turn of the first round on draft day.

  • Nikola Jokic (elbow) out Wednesday vs. LAL

Jokic didn't appear to be bothered at all by his elbow during Monday's exhibition game, and he doesn't have a history with elbow issues, so hopefully, this is more of a precautionary absence than anything else. After Wednesday, the Nuggets won't take the court again until Sunday vs. San Antonio, and there will be some mild cause for concern if Jokic also needs to miss that one. Stay tuned.

  • Nikola Jokic hits three triples in win

He has lost a good bit of weight over the offseason and looks more mobile, so maybe we'll see him float to the perimeter a bit more this season. Jokic hit 0.6 3-pointers on a 32.4 percent clip in 2016-17, so if he keeps improving from beyond the arc that will further solidify his status as a top-10 fantasy asset. He finished 5-of-9 from the field in 23 minutes with two rebounds, three assists and one block.

  • Nikola Jokic looks like Nikola Jokic

He said he's lost about 10 pounds this summer, but it was the same old Magic Jokic. He had a quintessential no-look, over-the-shoulder dime in this game and he was in his usual role as the point forward (video of pass in link below). Although, coach Mike Malone has said he'd like to take some pressure of Jokic with Paul Millsap out there, but we'd still view him as a strong first-round pick in standard leagues.

  • Nikola Jokic will not play at EuroBasket

Jokic will instead devote his offseason to perfecting his craft, and the 22-year-old could be in for a huge Year-3, particularly if Denver is not able to retain Danilo Gallinari during free agency. He was a top-20 stud last season with averages of 16.7 points, 9.8 boards, 4.9 dimes, 0.6 triples, 0.8 steals and 0.7 blocks per game, and he should come off the board towards the end of the first-round on draft day.

  • Mike Miller praises Nikola Jokic

"He’s one of those superstars, I think he’s going to be a superstar," Miller said. "I think you’ll see even more growth at the beginning of this next year, that everyone just wants to play with. He plays that style of basketball. I’ve compared him a lot to Marc and Pau Gasol, I think he’s a lot like that." When Jokic moved back into the starting lineup on Dec. 15, the Nuggets had the best offensive rating for the rest of the season. The 22-year-old big man averaged 17.7 points, 11.6 rebounds, 6.1 assists, 0.6 blocks, 1.0 steals and 0.6 treys after the All-Star break and should be coming off the board in the first round of fantasy drafts next season.
