Noah Vonleh Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections
Paul Millsap (ankle) and Noah Vonleh (ankle) out Sunday
Millsap has officially been downgraded from questionable and won't play in Sunday's matchup against the Toronto Raptors due to a sprained right ankle, while Noah Vonleh will also be unavailable because of a sprained right ankle, but he hasn't been apart of the regular rotation since being acquired from the Timberwolves at the trade deadline. In Millsap's absence, Jerami Grant will receive the starting nod at power forward, and he has consistently been allotted minutes in the low-30s as a starter when Millsap was sidelined for an extended period of time earlier in the season. While Grant and possibly Michael Porter Jr. benefit the most from additional playing time, Nikola Jokic has a 30.3% usage rate, 38.5% assist rate, 18.4% rebound rate, and is averaging 1.52 DraftKings and 1.49 FanDuel points per minute with Millsap off the court.
Jeff Teague (knee), Treveon Graham (illness), and Noah Vonleh (glute) available to play Sunday
Teague, Graham, and Vonleh have all been upgraded from questionable and are available to play in Sunday's matchup against the Cleveland Cavaliers, while Karl-Anthony Towns will miss a 10th straight contest with a sprained left knee despite Minnesota continuing to list him as questionable prior to every game. There haven’t been any reports of a potential minute restriction for Andrew Wiggins, so he should displace either Kelan Martin or Jarrett Culver from the starting lineup and Culver's role will likely drastically decrease after logging at least 32 minutes in each of the Timberwolves previous three games now that Teague, Graham, and Vonleh are available as well. Wiggins unsurprisingly leads Minnesota with a 31.3% usage rate with Towns off the court, but Robert Covington has actually benefitted the most from a production standpoint, as he is averaging 1.04 DraftKings and 1.05 FanFuel points per minute in a 400.8 minutes sample size.
Andrew Wiggins (illness), Karl-Anthony Towns (knee), Jeff Teague (knee), Treveon Graham (illness), and Noah Vonleh (glute) out Thursday
Wiggins, Towns, Teague, Graham, and Vonleh have all officially been downgraded from questionable and won't play in Thursday’s second leg of a back-to-back set against the Golden State Warriors, while Josh Okogie remains probable due to right elbow bursitis. With all of the aforementioned players sidelined for Wednesday’s loss, head coach Ryan Saunders started, Shabazz Napier, Jarrett Culver, Kelan Martin, Robert Covington, and Gorgui Dieng, but Napier, Culver, and Covington were the only three to log north of 30 minutes, indicating just how deep into his bench Saunders is willing to go with so many regulars unavailable to play the previous few games. The sample size with Teague, Wiggins, and Towns all off the court remains relatively limited, but in that time, Napier leads the Timberwolves with a 29.0% usage rate and is averaging 1.02 DraftKings and 0.93 FanDuel points per minute.
Andrew Wiggins (illness), Treveon Graham (illness), and Noah Vonleh (glute) questionable Thursday; Josh Okogie (elbow) probable
Wiggins, Graham, and Vonleh are all listed as questionable for Thursday's second leg of a back-to-back set against the Golden State Warriors, while Jeff Teague is doubtful, as expected, due to a sprained right knee that will likely hold him out of a second straight game. The Timberwolves also did list Karl-Anthony Towns as questionable for the ninth consecutive contest with a sprained left knee, but until he puts in a full practice, he seems highly unlikely to make his return to full game action. With all of the aforementioned players sidelined for Wednesday's loss, head coach Ryan Saunders started, Shabazz Napier, Jarrett Culver, Kelan Martin, Robert Covington, and Gorgui Dieng, but Napier, Culver, and Covington were the only three to log north of 30 minutes, indicating just how deep into his bench Saunders is willing to go with so many regulars unavailable to play the previous few games.
Treveon Graham (illness) and Noah Vonleh (glute) out Wednesday; Josh Okogie (elbow) available
Graham and Vonleh will join the Timberwolves' lengthy inactive list and won't play in Wednesday's matchup against the Milwaukee Bucks, while Okogie has been cleared to play, as expected, following his original probable designation on the injury report with right elbow bursitis. Following Jeff Teague’s final exit early in the fourth quarter of Monday’s overtime loss, Shabazz Napier and Jarrett Culver absorbed basically all of the ballhandling and playmaking responsibilities as both players went on to record at least 34 minutes of action in the aforementioned contest. The sample size with Teague, Andrew Wiggins, and Karl-Anthony Towns all off the court remains relatively limited, but in that time, Napier leads the Timberwolves with a 31.4% usage rate but is only averaging 0.93 DraftKings and 0.86 FanDuel points per minute, leaving plenty of room for increased fantasy production as the sample size grows.
Noah Vonleh (glute) downgraded to questionable Monday
Vonleh is a late addition to the Timberwolves injury report and is now questionable for Monday's matchup against the Brooklyn Nets due to a glute contusion, while Andrew Wiggins, Karl-Anthony Towns, and Treveon Graham were already ruled out with their respective ailments. The continued absence of Towns will allow Gorgui Dieng to draw another start at center after averaging 29.7 minutes per contest over the last six games, and his minute floor would likely only increase if Noah Vonleh is unable to play as Jordan Bell and Naz Reid are the only other bigs on the active roster. Graham recently replaced Josh Okogie in the starting lineup, and now that he’s unavailable, Okogie could become a viable fantasy option for tournaments since he and Jeff Teague each see a minimum of a +5.3% increase in usage rate and average at least +0.10 more fantasy points per minute with Wiggins and Towns off the court this season.
Usage Void For Minnesota
Karl-Anthony Towns has a 29.2% usage this season thus far, and with his suspension, this opens up a massive number of shots available for the rest of the Timberwolves. Teague & Covington have not been priced up enough on DK to account for this void, and Andrew Wiggins (25.7% usage even *with* Towns playing) is priced even cheaper on FD at $6600. There will also be 30-35 minutes of front court work available in the rotation that should be filled by Vonleh, Bell & Layman, so having at least one these cheaper value plays in a PF slot on both sites is likely optimal for all formats.
Noah Vonleh will not play Friday
Noah Vonleh injured ankle will keep him out of his second straight game. On Wednesday the Knicks started Mario Henzonja in his place vs the Jazz so there is a good chance that he will once again get the start vs Paul Milsap. Hezonja was able to produce 27 DK points on Wednesday in 25 minutes of action. If starting the price is still low on Hezonja making him worth a look as a source of salary relief on this slate.
Noah Vonleh (ankle) and Frank Ntilikina (groin) listed out Wednesday
Vonleh has been listed out on the most recent version of the Knicks' injury report and won't play in Wednesday's matchup against the Utah Jazz due to a sprained right ankle that has now forced him to miss three consecutive games, while Ntilikina will remain sidelined with a sore groin despite initially being upgraded to questionable. With Vonleh and Dennis Smith Jr. unavailable, Mario Hezonja and Emmanuel Mudiay have joined the starting lineup, and Hezonja has logged at least 27 minutes in each of his two most recent starts since returning from an extended injury absence. There's an extremely limited sample size with all of the injured Knicks off the court since the trade deadline, but in that time, Mudiay owns a 29.3% usage rate (+3.8%) and is averaging 1.26 DraftKings and 1.16 FanDuel points per minute in this scenario.
Dennis Smith Jr. (back) and Noah Vonleh (ankle) listed out Monday
Smith Jr. has been listed as out on the most recent version of the Knicks' injury report and won't play in Monday's matchup against the Toronto Raptors due to a sore lower back that has now forced him to miss three consecutive games, while Vonleh will sit for a second straight contest with a sprained right ankle. In Vonleh's absence, Mario Hezonja surprisingly received the starting nod alongside Kevin Knox in the frontcourt and was tremendous from a fantasy perspective in nearly 37 minutes of action in Sunday's win. Emmanuel Mudiay should also draw another start at point guard, and he's been extremely hit or miss in his two latest spot starts in an average of 34.3 minutes per game over that span.
