Peter Uihlein Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections

Lanto Griffin is no longer in the field

In what has already been a busy Monday of player movement, Lanto Griffin becomes the latest player to take a pass on this week's Wyndham Championship. Vaughan Talor and Abraham Ancer also withdrew earlier on Monday. Ben Martin, Peter Uihlein, and Josh Teater have all be added to the field and will get projections once they are added to the pricing pool. Taylor is the only player with a known injury ( ribs).

Peter Uihlein in need of a good week

Secondary tour events like this week's Corales Championship are all about making the most of the opportunity at hand. Having played in last year's Match Play Championship, Peter Uihlein represents a player who desperately needs to make the most of this week. Playing in his second full season on tour, Uihlein has struggled to play at the level displayed last season. With a handful of W/D's and only 2 top 25 or better finishes this season, it's easy to look past Uihlein when narrowing your roster pool. Still considered by many to be a talented player, even a poor form version of Uihlein is still worthy of a value option for The Corales Championship. If Uihlein can figure out his poor iron play then there is a strong chance he can crush his price for the week. The greens at Corales Golf Club have known to be very sticky in terms of receiving second shots, so for a player who is struggling like Uihlein, there is a chance to score despite sharp iron play.

Golf Ownership is live

Results DB is back up and running this morning. Come check out how your ownership numbers stack up vs the field.

Fifteen minutes to roster lock and no major news to report

With a little over fifteen minutes until the roster lock, it’s quiet on the news front. Perfect weather for golf over the first two rounds, so it looks like you can avoid the need to stack tee time waves. ResultsDB is currently under maintenance this morning, and once it's fixed an alert will be sent out and golf ownership numbers will be updated. Good luck this week grinders, as always if any late news breaks we will provide the updates needed.

Peter Uihlein flying under the radar

Peter Uihlein arrives at Silverado Country Club with a year of PGA Tour experience under his belt. After starting his 2018 season with a missed cut at this event Uihlein posted 8 top 25 or better finishes in 16 made cuts. Regarded in many circles a talented young player on tour, Uihlein has the game to be a winner on tour. With a ton of buzz going the way of new players on tour, Uihlein represents a great opportunity to buy low on a very talented golfer. Ranked inside the top 70 in both the official world ranking and last year's final FedEx Cup race Uihlein makes for a great tournament play at low predicted ownership. With many in the industry using the stars and scrubs lineup approach for the week, players in the mid-range like Uihlein will simply garnish lower ownership in spite of potential upside. Uihlein is a player that many expect to win on tour, and as we have seen in the past few seasons, the wraparound season is a great place for a young player to take a big step in their career.

Peter Uihlein looks to continue his good play

Looking to shed the inconsistent play that marred the beginning part of his season, Peter Uihlein heads into this week with a bit of momentum on his side. A veteran of worldwide competition, Uihlein is trying to make the most of his first full season on the PGA Tour. Fueled by 3 straight top 25 or better finishes, Uihlein currently sits in the 54th position in the FedEx Cup standings. Looking to build on his current solid recent form Uihlein has an excellent chance to once again perform well in what is turning out to be a watered down PGA Tour event. With many of the bigger names choosing to take the week off, Uihlein is quickly gaining interest as a top mid-tier option this week. With one win already on the Web.com Tour last season, Uihlein knows what it takes to get it done when given the opportunity. One of the biggest challenges this week is to find six players who you can trust that fit inside a good roster build, and Uihlein's solid recent play provides a strong case for your roster consideration this week.

Peter Uihlein looks to rebound from a missed cut

Inconsistent play has been the underlying theme to the early part of Peter Uihlein's rookie debut on the PGA Tour. In six starts this season, Uihlein has only made three cuts and has three top 20 or better finishes. Currently ranked inside the top 60 in the FedEx Cup standings, Uihlein has made the most of his opportunities when he makes the cut. Unfortunately last week, Uihlein let a very promising opening round of four under par go to waste as he played poorly on Friday in route to missing his third cut of the season. Considered by many to be a player worth watching this season, Uihlein should provide value at his affordable salary this week. Priced accordingly for his up and down play, this son of the one of the most powerful golf CEO's in the world makes for a great boom or bust GPP play this week. If his early-week ownership projections stay the same throughout the week, there is a chance that you could the desirable combination of affordability and low ownership.

Peter Uihlein a path less traveled

Peter Uihlein was born into a golf family. His father Wally is the CEO of the Acushnet Company, the owner of the Titleist Golf Brand. Uihlein enjoyed a successful junior and amateur career highlighted by his 2010 U.S. Amateur win. This former number one ranked amateur golfer in the world struggled to find his way onto the PGA Tour. Since turning professional in 2011 Uihlein has competed on both the Challange and European Tours. Last season he began to play more on the PGA tour, and a win at the Web.Com Nationwide Children's Hospital Championship secured Uihlein a spot on the PGA Tour for the 2017-2018 season. Long regarded as a great young talent the 28-year-old Uihlein will make his 2017 PGA tour debut at The Safeway Open. With all the tools needed to play well this week Uihlein makes for an excellent GPP play. The big stage is not something that should overwhelm Uihlein, as he has won on The European tour, and has played in a handful of PGA Tour events in the past. Uihlein is in line for a great rookie campaign and this week offers us a great chance to get on board before his price starts to rise.

Erin Hills prepares to host its second USGA event

For the second time in three years the USGA will venture out of its comfort zone and play its most sacred championship at new venue. The process of hosting the U.S. Open is not an easy one, and many of the current venues held other USGA championships prior to hosting the open. Erin Hills is not only a new USGA venue, but the course itself is only 11 years old. The course held its first USGA event in 2011 when it hosted the U.S. Amateur Championship. 18 players from that championship are in the field this week. Last week's ownership favorite Peter Uihlein is one of the 18 golfers to have participated in the U.S. Amateur. Uihlein earned his spot into this year's open via sectional qualifying. With apparent momentum on his side, Uihlein quickly became one of the most talked about players for last week's FedEx St. Jude Classic. At nearly 30% ownership his MDF finish probably left many of his supporters with a sour taste in their mouths. Uihlein is not only a low priced player for this week's tournament, but he is also trending as a very low owned player. If you looking for some salary relief then you could do worse things than roster Uihlein. This soon to be PGA tour member is in the midst of his best season as a professional, and he has both the game and the experience to play well at Erin Hills.

USGA lowers the rough

Course setup for this year's U.S. Open is fastly becoming the hot topic of the week. Social media reports have given us a different insight into the course conditions for U.S. Open. The latest social media post comes via budding PGA superstar Peter Uihlein. It appears that the USGA has decided to cut some of the fescue rough down for this week's event. The extremely long course yardage of Erin Hills should put driver in play more this week, and the lower fescue will make errant shots less penal.
