Matt Jones inactive against Packers
Matt Jones was able to get in practice time this week, listed as a limited participant, but the Redskins must feel he has not recovered yet from his hip injury. Alfred Morris will once again be the lead and early-down back and the Redskins will use recently-signed veteran Pierre Thomas as their receiving back and change-of-pace option with Chris Thompson as the team's 3rd back. Morris is also in line to handle the majority of the goal line work. The Packers come into the Wild Card round of the playoffs ranked #12 vs. RB's in DvP rankings after 17 weeks.
Redskins / Chiefs offenses may not play full games
Reporting on NFL Network, Adam Schefter has confirmed that the Washington Redskins and Kansas City Chiefs may wind up resting offensive players in their games today. Washington has nothing to play for in their game against the Cowboys, while Kansas City will have nothing to play for if they notice at half time that the Broncos have a large lead on the Chargers, which would make their game against the Raiders meaningless. This makes players on both teams questionable plays, though the Chiefs' players have better odds at playing longer today. Ryan Grant and Jamison Crowder could see a lot more playing time today, making them possible tournament options to save salary while Pierre Thomas will see some work out of the backfield with Matt Jones out for the rest of the regular season.
Pierre Thomas Working Out for KC
After Jamaal Charles' ACL injury on Sunday, the Chiefs are down to Charcandrick West and Knile Davis in the backfield. West appears to have the upper hand as the go-to-guy going forward, but Thomas would add some depth as a 3rd down/change of pace back. The Chiefs are also hosting Ben Tate, who remains a free agent after an awful 2014 season in Cleveland and Pittsburgh.
