LeSean McCoy officially active for Monday night
He faces a Seattle defense that's allowed 100-yard rushers in consecutive weeks. He'll get a ton of volume as the Seahawks have an elite secondary, and the Bills' receiving corps is thin. Percy Harvin will also be active, but it's unclear how much he'll actually play. Reggie Bush, Robert Woods, and Charles Clay are all active as well; all three will have a tough time producing tonight.
Is Mike Gillislee a viable option if McCoy is out?
Last week Mike Gillislee generated some buzz as a possible value option. For most people, LeSean McCoy playing limited snaps ruined any idea of playing Gillislee. This week, McCoy looks much more likely to sit after missing practice on Friday. That will naturally lead some DFS players to consider Gillislee. There are several reasons not to go that direction though. First, the Patriots are a top five run defense using Football Outsiders. Even using Defense Vs. Position numbers the Patriots rank 11th against the run. They allow just 75.86 rushing yards per game and have allowed just two rushing TDs all season.
If the matchup isn't enough to scare you away from Gillislee, his usage should. Last week, McCoy played 23 snaps (40%), while Gillislee played 21 snaps (37%), and Reggis Bush played 18 snaps (32%). While Gillislee should be the main back on Sunday this situation could realistically be very close to a 50/50 split.
LeSean McCoy listed as questionable with hand injury suffered in practice
The Bills workhorse RB suffered a hand injury in practice and the team has listed him as questionable for this weeks game against the Rams. Head Coach Rex Ryan was non-committal when asked if McCoy would play this weekend. Regardless of whether he goes it's a tough match up against the Rams who are 7th in Defensive DVOA. Mike Gillislee and Reggie Bush would get the RB work if McCoy can't go but neither are viable DFS options. We'll update you if we learn anything new on Shady.
Reggie Bush done for the season
As if the 49ers needed any more bad luck, Carlos Hyde's backup is now out for the season after slipping on the sidelines following a run on Sunday. Until Hyde returns, new QB Blaine Gabbert will have to get by with Pierre Thomas, Shaun Draughn and Kendall Gaskins. None of them are DFS relevant with the state this offense is in. You'll be wanting to stream opposing D/ST units against this team for the foreseeable future.
