Devin Booker OUT tonight for Phoenix
The Suns are wanting to make sure they don't win any more games and their star young phenom guard will sit out their season finale. Derrick Jones and Ronnie Price will benefit the most from his absence and newly signed Elijah Millsap could provide some value as the team wants to see what he has to offer.
Ronnie Price (leg) ruled out
Ronnie Price has been ruled out of tonight's contest due to an injured leg. He was considered doubtful for tonight's game and did not have any DFS relevance to begin with. Tyler Ulis will play all the minutes he can handle with Eric Bledsoe and Brandon Knight shut down for the season.
Ronnie Price (leg) officially ruled out today; Derrick Jones Jr. will start for Devin Booker (ankle)
Price will not play in today's game against the Detroit Pistons after previously being listed as doubtful on the Suns' injury report with a left leg contusion. He will join Devin Booker and Leandro Barbosa among the Suns' recent players to be ruled out and leaves the Suns with just eight active players for today's contest. The Suns have already shut down Eric Bledsoe and Brandon Knight for the season, so with Booker and Price unable to suit up, Phoenix will be extremely thin in the backcourt this afternoon. Tyler Ulis has played at least 39 minutes in each of the Suns last two games, so he is essentially a must play in all formats. He also draws a great individual matchup with Reggie Jackson and the Pistons' backcourt defense. Recently signed Jarell Eddie is also in line for significant minutes with Booker and Price officially ruled out, but he can certainly be classified as a tournament-only option to pivot away from the potentially massive ownership on Ulis.
Devin Booker (ankle) questionable today; Ronnie Price (leg) doubtful; Leandro Barbosa (illness) remains out
Booker has officially been downgraded to questionable for today's game against the Detroit Pistons due to an ankle injury, while Ronnie Price is officially doubtful with a leg contusion and Leandro Barbosa will miss his second consecutive game due to an illness. The Suns have already shut down Eric Bledsoe and Brandon Knight for the season, so if both Booker and Price are unable to suit up, Phoenix will be extremely thin in the backcourt for tonight's contest. Tyler Ulis has played at least 39 minutes in each of the Suns last two games, so he is essentially a must play in all formats regardless of Booker and Price's availability. He also draws a great individual matchup with Reggie Jackson and the Pistons' backcourt defense.
Eric Bledsoe to be shut down for the season
We're about to see plenty of Tyler Ulis and Devin Booker in the near future. Bledsoe has reportedly played his final minute of the season, so Ulis figures to command heavy minutes with Ronnie Price helping out off the bench in a limited role. Booker and Ulis both played huge minutes on Wednesday - 40 for Booker and 39 for Ulis - and that's something that will likely continue as we head down the stretch run of the regular season. Booker carries a 39.0% usage rate and 1.07 FPPM mark in 108.4 minutes with Bledsoe, Knight and Chandler off the court this year, so expect his mid-range price tag to climb before long. Ulis registers a 23.3% usage rate and 0.87 FPPM mark in the same split, so if sites aren't quick to hike up his salary, hop on board. T.J. Warren also figures to pick up a bit more of the load offensively, as he was able to chuck up 16 shots on Wednesday.
Archie Goodwin (ankle) will play against the Clippers
Goodwin is a strong option on the late slate and should play 28-32 minutes if his ankle holds up. The Suns have nothing to play for and could limit Ronnie Price's minutes for that reason. We'll have to throw out the DvP stats with Chris Paul not playing tonight. Goodwin's ownership will likely remain low but he deserves tournament consideration for the late slate.
Jon Leuer confirmed as the starter tonight; Archie Goodwin ruled out
Leuer will replace Tyson Chandler in the starting lineup. Leuer should be considered an exceptional option against the Kings on Monday. Leuer is only $3,300 on DraftKings leaving him with a ton of upside tonight. Archie Goodwin will not play, making Ronnie Price a strong punt option. Price has proven that he is a boom-or-bust player because he has scored under 10 fpts in two out of his last five starts.
Tyson Chandler (concussion) ruled out against the Kings; Archie Goodwin (ankle) doubtful
Chandler will not be playing on Monday after suffering a concussion on Saturday. Jon Leuer will likely replace him in the starting lineup and is a strong punt play with his salary sub-4k on both major sites. If Leuer does get the start he should 28-32 minutes against the Kings. In 25 starts this season, Leuer is averaging 22.03 FanDuel fpts, providing us a solid floor in a game with the highest projected total (218). Archie Goodwin is doubtful with an ankle injury after exceeding 8x in his last two performances. With Goodwin expected to be out, Ronnie Price will get most of the minutes at PG and John Jenkins will be used as his backup. Price should be considered an elite punt play and Jenkins is a GPP dart throw.
Brandon Knight (sports hernia) shut down for the season
Knight has finally been ruled out for the season. Ronnie Price has started the last two games for Knight, playing over 32 minutes in both games. The Hawks are 6th in DvP vs. PGs over the last three weeks, making Price a risky punt play. With eleven games on the slate, there will be other value plays available.
Brandon Knight (groin) out for Sunday
Knight was not able to play on Friday due to a sports hernia. Ronnie Price started in his place and played 33 minutes, contributing 21.8 fantasy points on DraftKings. If Price starts again he will be a low-end option against Jazz on Sunday. With eleven games on the slate it'll be easy to find value in other games.
