The Eagles RB situation is certainly murky as Wendell Smallwood has a sprained MCL and will miss some time while Darren Sproles is currently in the concussion protocol and his status for this week is in doubt. That leaves Ryan Mathews (coming off an injury) and Kenjon Barner as the two primary RB's for the Eagles. If Sproles is unable to play this week, it could be a big workload for Mathews (although they face the Ravens so the workload might not matter much). We'll keep you updated as the week develops.

Expect Jordan Matthews to pick up a ton of targets today out of the slot. Fortunately, he'll avoid Josh Norman most of the day, which should help with his efficiency. Ryan Mathews isn't a great option in his first game back since spraining his MCL. Wendell Smallwood is expected to be the lead back for the Eagles.

Mathews (knee) isn't expected to be the feature back today, according to Adam Schefter. He expects Wendell Smallwood to lead the way and Darren Sproles to pick up some work. With a committee and hard-to-predict workloads, it's a backfield to avoid. Jordan Matthews (ankle) is all set to play and should receive a ton of passes with Dorial Green-Beckham not expected to suit up. Philadelphia's offense has struggled recently but have a nice matchup with Washington's poor defense that ranks 20th in pass DVOA and 30th against the rush. Matthews will avoid Josh Norman's coverage in the slot, instead lining up across from Kendall Fuller, who has a poor 50.6 PFF grade. Based on expected volume, Matthews is a nice target today; in terms of points-per-dollar, he projects as our WR4 on FanDuel.

The Eagles have listed their top WR and RB as questionable but both are expected to play against the Redskins this week. Both are viable options and Ryan Mathews is especially worth a look on FanDuel where his price is just $4,600. The Redskins are 30th in Rush DVOA.

The starting RB and WR #1 for the Eagles will practice today and Head Coach Doug Pederson expects both to play this weekend. Jordan is certainly in play facing a suspect Redskins pass defense. Ryan, however, is much riskier and will likely split the workload with Darren Sproles and Wendell Smallwood. Dorial Green-Beckham missed practice and his status for this weekend is uncertain - with Matthews back in the fold, however, he wouldn't have been a viable option anyway.

It's a good spot but both have struggled to show any upside making them nothing more than GPP dart throws. Jordan Matthews is also questionable with an ankle injury that he struggled with in a limited practice session yesterday - if he can't go, Dorial Green-Beckham would receive the biggest boost and he'd be worthy of consideration after coming off a 6 reception game on Monday Night.

The Eagles face a Bengals defense that is 20th in Pass DVOA but with a struggling pass offense led by Carson Wentz (one that could only put up 13 points against the horrific Packers defense) he's not a recommended DFS option. RB Ryan Mathews looks as if he will miss another game as he is still not practicing. That'll mean more Darren Sproles and Wendell Smallwood - Sproles is viable on PPR sites, Smallwood has yet to show any fantasy appeal.

Ryan Mathews continues to miss practice after sitting out last weeks game against the Packers while Jordan Matthews is trying to recover from an ankle injury he incurred in that game. It's early in the week so the two could still play - it's a situation we'll monitor and update as more information comes in.

Without him available against the Packers, Darren Sproles out-snapped Wendell Smallwood 31-22. That's in part due to the Eagles playing from behind as Sproles is their primary receiving back. He ended up second on the team in targets with seven. Smallwood out-rushed him, picking up 37 yards on nine carries, while Sproles had just six yards on three carries. Their snap counts will likely vary based on game flow if Mathews misses another game. The Eagles are 1.5-point favorites against the Bengals this weekend, which gives a slight edge to Smallwood, but it'll still be a timeshare and the game total is set at a low 42.5 points. Neither Sproles or Smallwood will be strong options at running back.

The Eagles have ruled out Ryan Mathews for Monday's versus Green Bay. The Packers run defense started the year strong but has shown signs of weakness of late. Some will assume that Mathews absence benefits Darren Sproles. There should be some additional work for Sproles but Wendell Smallwood should step in to fill Mathews role. Smallwood is interesting in the primetime slate in a matchup where he should see 15-20 touches. Over the past four weeks, the Packers have been pounded for combined rushing lines of 17-81-1 (Falcons), 21-70-2 (Colts), 26-154-1 (Titans), and 26-147-3 (Redskins) by enemy backs.
