Offensive-minded Oiler looks to impress new linemates

The morning skate indicates Sam Gagner will lace the skates alongside Connor McDavid and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins on the team's top line. Gagner has been getting solid ice time over the last week in route to potting a pair of goals. While going into Toronto is no easy feat, the pace at which the Leafs play can make for some helter-skelter affairs. Gagner is minimally-priced across the industry and makes for a low-owned stack with McDavid and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, though be mindful that this line likely will not stick throughout the game, especially if the Oilers get down early.

Take A Stroll Down Narrative Street With This Veteran Trio

Recently announcing their retirement following the end of the regular season, future hall of famers Henrik and Daniel Sedin will be playing their last home game tonight. The Sedins have been masters of cycling the puck down low in the offensive zone for years, which creates high percentage scoring opportunities for forwards like Daniel and his team-leading 174 shots on goal supports this notion. A matchup against an improved Arizona team may seem risky, but with nothing to play for at this point during the season, I like the Sedin's chances of paying off their reasonable salaries in what expects to be an emotional evening in Vancouver tonight.

Vancouver sniper aims to crush Canadian rivals

Things were looking oh-so-sweet for the Edmonton Oilers as they raced out to a 3-0 lead on Tuesday night before being gashed by the Columbus Blue Jackets for seven unanswered goals. Connor McDavid is on fire, but the defense is a dumpster fire. In a matchup of teams who have not been in the playoff picture since the start of the season, we could see a number of goals. Sam Gagner and the Canucks have the pleasure of taking on an Edmonton penalty kill that is dead-last in the Western Conference (75.5%). Gagner, who is priced at $4,100 on FanDuel and $3,700 on DraftKings is an absolute steal given his recent surge, recording two goals and three assists in his last six games despite tough matchups. Gagner and linemates Daniel Sedin, who is just $4,200 on DraftKings, and Henrik Sedin have big upside in this matchup, so roll out the trio in tournaments and load up elsewhere.

Vancouver winger is starting to turn disappointing season around

Sam Gagner logged a season-high of 20:06 last time out as he potted the Canucks' only goal in a 4-1 loss against the surging St. Louis Blues. With Brock Boeser out, Vancouver has formed a new top line with the Sedin brothers and Gagner, and while Vancouver has struggled mightily on the road, they are catching a pressing Dallas team at the right time. The Stars have lost seven consecutive games and although they likely stop the bleeding here, they have struggled against the Canucks in two meetings this season, having been outscored 7-2 including a 6-0 defeat last month. Gagner is a power play weapon and has taken 28 shots on goal in just 11 games this month. With Kari Lehtonen sure to be popular, taking a chance on Sam Gagner in tournaments has a lot of merit as a low-owned option.

Top line winger will fly under the radar even on short slate

Recently Sam Gagner has found himself on the top line, bouncing between the top line and fourth line as he often does. With Brock Boeser on the shelf, the Canucks will need someone offensive-minded to take charge, and Gagner fits the bill perfectly. After a nice comeback campaign with Columbus last season despite limited minutes, Gagner has not exactly lit the world on fire, but he has collected a respectable 25 points (7 goals, 18 assists) in 60 games. Gagner, who has always been a weapon on the power play, also finds himself on the team's top unit. With Boeser out, Gagner has picked up an assist in his last two games and he logged his most minutes (17-plus) in a month last time out. At just $4,400 on FanDuel and a rock-bottom $3,600 on DraftKings, Gagner makes for an interesting tournament play and an emergency source of salary relief in cash games.
