After missing the last game due to the COVID-19 list, Perine was activated back to the 53 man roster ahead of the Bengals' divisional clash against the Baltimore Ravens. With Joe Mixon healthy and carrying the load, Perine simply shores up the depth for the team.
Giovani Bernard expected to play today
Giovani Bernard, listed as questionable with a concussion, is expected to play today. With Joe Mixon out and now on IR, Bernard is in position to be the lead back going forward for the Bengals. Samaje Perine should get the backup RB work, and the Bengals may need to lean on their running game more after Joe Burrow was lost for the season last week.
