Sasha Vujacic Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections
Sasha Vujacic will start for Carmelo Anthony (back) tonight
Anthony and Rose will not play in tonight's game against the Miami Heat after previously being listed as questionable on the Knicks' injury report with their respective ailments. Mindaugas Kuzminskas was originally expected to start in place of Carmelo once again, but Sasha Vujacic will receive the starting nod alongside Courtney Lee on the wing instead. Ron Baker played 40 minutes against Miami on Wednesday with Rose out and still only scored 15.3 DK points. He's not an elite option on a massive 11-game slate and it's probably best to fade such a low ceiling on this large of a slate. As far as Vujacic goes, his minute allotment is much more difficult to figure out, as Kuzminskas had been starting for Carmelo and played over 30 minutes in both instanced. He seemingly has a higher ceiling than Vujacic and Baker, but it may best to just target Kristaps Porzingis and avoid the Knick value options altogether unless in desperate need of salary savings.
Courtney Lee (wrist) officially ruled out for tonight
Lee will not play in tonight's game against the New Orleans Pelicans after previously being listed as questionable on the Knicks' injury report with a sore right wrist that also kept him sidelined in Wednesday's contest. Sasha Vujacic will likely draw the start at shooting guard once again in Lee's absence. Vujacic and Justin Holiday both saw additional minutes once Carmelo Anthony was ejected Wednesday, ultimately inflating their minute totals. Holiday still remains the preferred option of the two guards, but it's difficult to see him as a viable option, even in tournaments, with the plethora of other value at the guard positions this evening.
Sasha Vujacic starting in place of Courtney Lee
Courtney Lee will not play in tonight's game against the Atlanta Hawks after Knicks head coach Jeff Hornacek previously told reporters that he expected Lee to play. Vujacic will draw the start at shooting guard in Lee's absence, but Justin Holiday remains the preferred value option from this Knicks squad regardless, as he typically sees north of 25 minutes when Lee is unable to play. Holiday is available for the stone minimum on FanDuel and is an elite punt option at a shallow shooting guard position.
Carmelo Anthony (rest) to start on Wednesday; Cleanthony Early returns to the bench
Anthony rested on Sunday against the Pacers but will be starting against the Hornets on Wednesday. With Nicolas Batum out of the lineup, Carmelo Anthony should be able to exceed value with his asking price having dropped. Anthony has not been $7,700 on DK since December, leaving us with some nice tournament upside. The Knicks will round out the starting five with Jerian Grant, Sasha Vujacic, Derrick Williams, and Robin Lopez
Jose Calderon confirmed as starting tonight
Jose Calderon will start against the Kings on Sunday. Sasha Vujacic, Arron Afflalo, Kristaps Porzingis, and Robin Lopez will round out the starting five. All Knicks players should see a considerable bump with Anthony out of the lineup. Afflalo will likely be owned more than usual due to the news of Anthony missing coming out so early. Kristaps Porzingis will be the sleeper on the Knicks even though he played 38 minutes last night.
Sasha Vujacic starting with Arron Afflalo off the bench
Sasha Vujacic will be making his fourth consecutive start with Arron Afflalo coming off the bench. Vujacic has seen his playing time and production decrease since his first start. Vujacic does have tournament appeal with the Knicks facing the Warriors. With the Knicks currently underdogs by 14.5 points, Vujacic could also play in garbage time. Arron Afflalo will come off the bench for the second consecutive game and is a risky tournament option.
Arron Afflalo will play Sunday, Sasha Vujacic will still start
Arron Afflalo will play tonight against the Lakers, but he will come off the bench. Afflalo has missed the last two games with an abdomen injury. Sasha Vujacic will still start for the Knicks. Both Afflalo and Vujacic are GPP punt plays only tonight. It’s tough to predict how the minutes will breakdown between Afflalo and Vujacic.
Arron Afflalo and Lance Thomas OUT for Knicks; Sasha Vujacic to start
Afflalo will miss another game giving DFS players another opportunity to roster Sasha Vujacic who will get the start in his place. He'll most certainly be higher owned than he was his last game out when he put up 30+ fpts, but buyer beware as that performance was more of an outlier and was more likely a result of the match up against Phoenix more than anything. The Clippers are a much tougher match up (6th in SG DvP) and while there is definitely merit to taking a GPP flyer or two on Vujacic, don't go overboard with your exposure to him.
Sasha Vujacic starting for Arron Afflalo tonight
Sasha Vujacic will start tonight for only the ninth time this season. Vujacic started earlier in the season when Afflalo was out of the lineup and averaged 15.75 DKFP. Vujacic does not have a ton of upside but should be able to hit value if he plays 20 minutes tonight.
Arron Afflalo out with a strained abdominal muscle tonight
Arron Afflalo was a late scratch tonight and Sasha Vujacic will replace him in the starting lineup. Vujacic makes for intriguing punt option and has played well this season when given over 20 minutes. Don't expect a huge night from Vujacic but she should be able to exceed value against the Suns.
