Seth Roberts Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections
Marquise Brown (Ankle), Seth Roberts (Knee) Questionable for Sunday
Both Brown and Roberts are officially questionable for Sunday. Brown has been extremely inconsistent this season, playing his usual snap count last week and finishing with just 1 catch for 2 yards. However, he will always have huge play potential when he suits up. Seth Roberts has limited upside even as the third WR on the Ravens, not topping 40 yards in any game this season and totaling just 1 TD in 11 games.
Marquise Brown (Ankle), Seth Roberts (Knee) Limited; Nick Boyle (Illness) Practices Fully Thursday
Marquise Brown is a new addition to the injury report, limited Thursday with an ankle injury. He still is likely to play Sunday. Roberts was limited for a second straight day, putting his status in question. Boyle practiced fully after sitting out Wednesday with an illness, and he will play Sunday.
Nick Boyle (Illness) Does Not Practice, Seth Roberts (Knee) Limited Wednesday
Boyle was out with an undisclosed illness and needs to be monitored this week. Roberts is likely to play Sunday.
Doug Martin, Seth Roberts, and Jordy Nelson are active today
Doug Martin, Seth Roberts, and Jordy Nelson will suit up today vs The Steelers. As a double-digit home dog in a high total game, it's hard to really like any Raider with the exception of Jared Cook in this matchup. With only an implied team total of 20.5, The Steelers defense should be in play vs what has been a very disappointing offensive unit this season.
Doug Martin (knee) and Seth Roberts (concussion) questionable for Sunday
Martin is officially listed as questionable on the Raiders' injury report for Sunday's matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers due to a knee injury, while Seth Roberts remains in the concussion protocol and will need to be cleared before returning to game action. The uncertainty surrounding Martin's availability makes the signing of C.J. Anderson make all that more logical, but with the Raiders presently 11-point home underdogs, Jalen Richard remains the preferred fantasy option of the trio since he's averaged just under six targets per game this season.
Raiders WR Seth Roberts (concussion) added to injury report as a limited participant in practice
Raiders WR Seth Roberts (concussion) added to injury report as a limited participant in practice earlier, so he suffered the injury today. Third time entering concussion protocol in recent months - he also was in the protocol in training camp and Oct. 14 against the Seahawks. If he's limited or can't go, Jordy Nelson, Jared Cook and Marcell Ateman could see an inflated target share.
Finding Value With A Depleted WR Group
Oakland's receivers are dropping in a hurry. Amari Cooper has been shipped to Dallas. Jordy Nelson has had enough, seems ready to leave town and is now out due to injury. Martavis Bryant suffered a potential season-ending injury last week. There's basically nothing left other than Seth Roberts and Brandon LaFell. Get excited, Raiders fans! The good news is that this is a matchup against a similarly poor Cardinals team that will not be able to control the clock, so the Raiders should at least be able to move the ball some. All their pass catchers are cheap, and I'll target some LaFell and/or Roberts as dirt cheap GPP fliers in Week 12. It's not glamorous, but someone has to get targets, and it really helps in building out the rest of your lineup.
Injuries and Trades Opening Up Opportunities On This Team
Oakland is coming back from its bye week down a couple of players at the skill positions, with Marshawn Lynch on IR and Amari Cooper now in Dallas. This should open things up for the remaining players, who are priced down due to Oakland’s early-season struggles and now could be value plays. Jalen Richard is a cheap RB to target, particularly on full PPR sites, with 31 receptions and 253 receiving yards in six games this season. There are a number of reasonable options at Wide Receiver, with Jordy Nelson carrying a reasonable 3 receiving TDs on the year so far, Martavis Bryant now moving into the role as the second Wide Receiver, and slot receiver Seth Roberts coming into plays as a dirt-cheap option if he can cleared to play this week.
Amari Cooper expected to miss this week's game
With the concussion protocol behind him, Cooper was not able to get his ankle healthy enough to play this week. In what has been an overall disappointment of a season, Cooper had his best game of the season in a Thursday night matchup vs the Chiefs in week seven. Look for Seth Roberts to step up as a popular streaming wide receiver option this week. The Raiders will get back Michael Crabtree from suspension this week making him the clear-cut number one option in the passing game, but there should still be plenty of targets for Roberts now that Copper is out.
Giants CB Eli Apple, LB Jonathan Casillas, WR Travis Rudolph, and RT Justin Pugh inactive Week 13; DT Damon Harrison active
The Giants will be without two of their starting cornerbacks as Apple and Janoris Jenkins (ankle, IR) are both out. Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and Ross Cockrell will be the starting CBs against a Raiders squad missing Amari Cooper and Michael Crabtree. DRC and Cockrell have earned PFF's 40th and 73rd coverage grades, respectively. Seth Roberts and Cordarrelle Patterson are in line for solid target bumps, as is tight end Jared Cook. Of course, the Giants are notoriously poor at defending tight ends - they've given up the most PPR points to the position - so Cook figures to be a popular option in DFS today. Harrison's presence will be a downgrade for Marshawn Lynch, he's PFF's top-graded run defense grade among interior defenders. Still, Lynch may be used as a workhorse back again this week with Oakland in must-win mode. The Raiders ran him out there for 75% of the offensive snaps in Week 12 and gave him a season-high 29 touches. He returned 110 total yards and a score. The Giants have given up the third-most rushing yards to RBs over the past four weeks (120.7/g).
