Steve Mason Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections
Fly high with this young netminder
Connor Hellebuyck will get his third consecutive start as newly-acquired Steve Mason is riding the pine after his disaster of a start against the leafs on opening night. Connor has been outstanding in his two starts, winning in Edmonton on Monday night and again in Vancouver on Thursday night. Connor held the high-powered Oilers to two goals, stopping 37 of 39 shots. He was just as good against the Canucks, stopping 30 of 32 shots. A matchup with the Carolina Hurricanes is likely to be a fast-paced one, so Hellebuyck should easily see 30-plus shots with a good chance of a win backed by a potent Jets' offense. Carolina struggled mightily on the road last season, and they could struggle again this season as their offense is average at best. Connor can carry you to the top of the leaderboard.
Steve Mason Out Monday For Personal Reasons
Flyers goalie Steve Mason will sit out Monday night due to a personal family matter. As a result, Michael Neuvirth will play between the pipes on Monday. Neuvirth isn't a strong option even with the Flyers taking on the Panthers in Philly; this news benefits the Florida skaters.
