Steven Jackson to take on LeGarrette Blount's old role
Newly acquired Steven Jackson will take over for the Patriots as their short-yardage back and goal line specialist with LeGarrette Blount out for the rest of the season. In a game where the Patriots will most likely limit their rushes against a top rush D (#4 vs. RB's in DvP rankings), Jackson may not have a big role in his first game. Last time out against the Jets, the Patriots passed over 90% of the time, calling only a handful of rushes the entire game. Jackson will likely have to split short-yardage carries still with the likes of Brandon Bolden and Joey Iosefa as well.
Steven Jackson to sign with the Patriots
After a lackluster performance from both Joey Iosefa (14 carries for 51 yards) and Brandon Bolden (10 carries for 36 yards), the New England Patriots have decided to sign Steven Jackson. It's unclear how soon Jackson, who has not played at all this season, will be ready to go but if he's anything like his former self, even at his "old" age, he's an upgrade worthy of DFS consideration in the Patriots high-powered offense.
