Robbie Ray has the second highest strikeout rate (35.9%) over the last month
Robbie Ray is seventh in the majors in strikeout rate (27.9%) and second to only Yu Darvish over the last month (35.9%). While a 35.0% hard contact rate and 16.5 HR/FB along with an 8.6 BB% are still reasons to be cautious in difficult parks this may be the spot we’ve been looking for with him. The Mets have been an average offense at home and vs LHP (102 wRC+ each), but strike out 22.2% of the time vs southpaws, play in an extremely negative run environment and are severely lacking in healthy and competent RHBs at the moment as you can see by some of the unrecognizable names in tonight's lineup. At a significantly lower price than Verlander with a higher K% over the last month and on the season, Robbie Ray is a top play tonight. With all of the hard contact he allows players can still consider some of the lighter priced Mets bats tonight, including Neil Walker (151 wRC+, .259 ISO vs LHP this season), who is red hot (290 wRC+ last seven days) and costs $3.2K on FanDuel, Wilmer Flores (175 wRC+, .306 ISO vs LHP since 2015) for $3.2K or less on either site or even the lightly used rookie, Ty Kelly, without much a resume so far, but a spot in the two hole tonight for less than $2.5K on either site. RHBs do have a .337 wOBA and 37.2 Hard% vs Ray since last season.
