Tyler Naquin Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections
Some Top Offenses Projecting For Top Value Too
Considering the quality pitching is basically all at the top of the board tonight, players are going to need some salary savers for their lineups tonight. The good news, depending on your point of view, is that some of the top projecting bats are also top projecting values. Jake Fraley (142 wRC+, .265 ISO vs RHP this season) is not only the top projected bat on the board, but a top five projected value on either site for $3K or less against Bryse Wilson (LHBs .415 wOBA, .393 xwOBA). TJ Friedl (96 wRC+, .192 ISO) also doubles as a top projected bat and value on both sites. With RHBs owning a healthy .332 wOBA and .341 xwOBA against Wilson as well, Donovan Solano (95 wRC+) is your top projecting FanDuel value ($2.1K) and Aristides Aquino (80 wRC+, .213 ISO) is your top projecting DraftKings value ($2.0), while also being a top 10 projected value on FD ($2.7K).
So that’s basically it. Stack Reds with expensive pitching. However, if you’re worried about ownership on a small slate, projections from either site also suggest some value in the visiting lineup in Cincinnati as well. Mike Minor has just a 12.9 K% over his last five starts and is down to a 9.3 K-BB% for the season. He doesn’t allow a ton of hard contact (34.6%), but with just a 36.1 GB%, 8.6% of his contact have still been barrels and pitching in Cincinnati hasn’t helped with 20 of 26 barrels leaving the yard (15.3 HR/FB). His 5.70 ERA nearly matches his 5.75 FIP, though remaining estimators range all the way from a 4.75 SIERA to a 6.16 DRA. RHBs have a .402 wOBA and still fairly strong .348 xwOBA against Minor and the park likely plays into that. However, it’s LH Jack Suwinski (52 wRC+, .182 ISO) as the only Pirate projecting as a top 10 value on both DraftKings and FanDuel for $2.3K or less. LHBs are below a .290 wOBA and xwOBA against Minor this year, so this is all predicated on him getting a hold of one. For less than $2.5K, Michael Chavis (105 wRC+, .203 ISO) and Rodolfo Castro (113 wRC+. 273 ISO) project as top DraftKings values, while Bryan Reynolds (106 wRC+, .152 ISO) and Ke’Bryan Hayes (130 wRC+, .165 ISO) project as top FanDuel values for $2.5K or less.
FanDuel projections also suggest adding Tyler Naquin (125 wRC+, .232 ISO) and Daniel Vogelbach (142 wRC+, .239 ISO) to your Mets stacks for $2.2K each to go with the top projected bats of Pete Alonso and Francisco Lindor against Javier Assad, who has faced just 21 LHBs, but with three extra base hits and a wOBA and xwOBA above .400.

Cheap Bats with the Wind Blowing Out
The wind is blowing out at Wrigley tonight, not enough to put it on par with Coors and pitcher friendly umpire could slightly conflict with the effects, but it does make this a great spot to look for bats tonight. While the Reds are the team with the total above five runs, the Cubs offer affordability, which man be more important, considering the state of pitching tonight. RHBs have a .326 wOBA and .322 xwOBA against Wade Miley this year, who’s estimators are all more than a run above his 2.97 ERA with just an 18.3 K%. Michael Hermosillo (139 wRC+, .286 ISO) and Frank Schwindel (225 wRC+, .400 ISO) have very small samples, less than 50 PAs, according to PlateIQ, against LHP, but the latter costs just $3.5K on DraftKings, while the former costs exactly $2K on each site. Hermosillo and Schwindel are projected to bat first and second tonight. The wind is specifically blowing out to right field, according to Weather Edge, which makes Joey Votto (165 wRC+, .338 ISO vs RHP) one of the top bats on the slate against Adrian Sampson, who struck out just two of 17 Reds in his only spot start of the season a few weeks back. He’s struck out just 11 of 48 batters this year with two home runs allowed and has just an 11.8 K-BB% over 164.1 career innings with 39 home runs and 54 barrels (9.4%). Tyler Naquin (127 wRC+, .239 ISO) costs just $2.9K on either site.
Indians’ bats are a sneaky option vs. struggling Odorizzi
With Jose Ramirez looking like himself again and newly acquired Yasiel Puig and Franmil Reyes in the lineup, the Indians suddenly have a dangerous offense. They’ll face Jake Odorizzi, who started the season hot but has really fallen apart of late. Since July 1st, Odorizzi has posted a 6.21 ERA, 5.60 xFIP and 9.9% K-BB with a 1.55 WHIP, 2.2 HR/9 and 88.4 MPH aEV. Odorizzi has a bit of a reverse platoon split, but can be targeted from both sides of the plate. Carlos Santana (.375 xwOBA vs. RHP this year), Franmil Reyes (.367), Jason Kipnis (.358), Jose Ramirez (.339), Francisco Lindor (.337), Tyler Naquin (.336) and Yasiel Puig (.324) are all good options tonight. Jason Kipnis has been the Indians’ hottest hitter with a .427 xwOBA over the past 14 days, followed by Jose Ramirez with a .414 mark. Franmil Reyes has been cold (.227) but costs only $3.4k on Draftkings. Other good values include Yasiel Puig ($4k), Jose Ramirez ($4.3k), Jason Kipnis ($4.1k) and Tyler Naquin ($3.5k). The Indians should see decently low ownership Saturday night and make for an intriguing stack in tournaments. They currently have a 4.55 implied line.
Cleveland left-handed bats are in a good spot vs. Mahle in GABP
Tyler Mahle has been a decent pitcher this year, but given his extreme platoon splits (.365 xwOBA vs. lefties, .290 xwOBA vs. righties since 2018) it becomes clear which matchups to target him. Since 2018, Mahle has allowed a .379 OBP and .555 SLG to left-handed batters. The Indians will have 7 left-handed hitters out of 8 in their lineup tonight in Great American Ball Park, a great park for left-handed power. In addition, WeatherEdge (available to premium subscribers) projects an increase in home runs in what is already a homer-friendly park. Carlos Santana (.399 xwOBA vs. RHP this year, Jason Kipnis (.362), Francisco Lindor (.348), Tyler Naquin (.335), Jose Ramirez (.312), Jake Bauers (.305) and Greg Allen (.285) are all 7 lefties in the CLE order this afternoon. Allen hasn’t seen much success vs. RHP this year but is batting 2nd at just $3k on Draftkings. Kipnis, Bauers and Naquin are all $3.7k or less on DK. Jose Ramirez has a .339 xwOBA over the past 14 days as he’s looked much better at the plate compared to earlier in the year. He’ll bat 5th and cost $4.3k. Also working in the Indians’ favor is a hitter friendly ump in David Rackley. Cleveland currently has a 4.65 implied line vs. Mahle and the Reds.
Indians offense has sneaky upside vs. German
By most metrics, Domingo German has been a very solid pitcher this year as he has a 3.66 ERA / 3.75 xFIP / 3.82 SIERA with a 19.8% K-BB. German does allow a good amount of loud contact though with an 88.7 aEV on the year. Over the past month, German has struggled with a .352 xwOBA allowed and an aEV of 90.1 MPH. He has a .394 xwOBACON on the year which goes to show that hitters can do some damage against him if they’re able to put the ball in play. Francisco Lindor (125 wRC+, .235 ISO vs. RHP over last calendar year), Carlos Santana (119 wRC+, .190 ISO), Oscar Mercado (105 wRC+, .145 ISO), Jose Ramirez (105 wRC+, .192 ISO), and Jason Kipnis (88 wRC+, .162 ISO) are all decent options that are in the top-5 of the Cleveland order tonight. Mercado, Kipnis and Ramirez are all available under $3.6k on Draftkings. Lindor has been on fire with an xwOBA of .476 over the past 10 days and will leadoff but is not cheap at $5.4k. Leonys Martin, Tyler Naquin and Jake Bauers are $3.2k or less at the bottom of the Indians’ order and are just dart-throw options as they have largely struggled so far in 2019. The Indians have a 4.40 implied line versus German and the Yankees tonight.
Tyler Naquin (calf) scratched Saturday; Jordan Luplow replaces
Naquin has been scratched from the Cleveland Indians original confirmed lineup and will not start in Saturday’s matchup against the Oakland Athletics due to left calf tightness. He’ll be replaced in the lineup Jordan Luplow, who will now play right field and slot directly into Naquin’s vacated sixth spot in the order. However, other than Roberto Perez and Mike Freeman flip-flopping batting positions, the remainder of the Indians lineup will stay intact offensively as they face off against right-handers Liam Hendriks and Aaron Brooks on the road this afternoon.
Tyler Naquin (hip) scratched Friday; Rajai Davis replaces
Naquin has been scratched from the Cleveland Indians original confirmed lineup and will not start in Friday’s matchup against the Detroit Tigers due to right hip discomfort. He’ll be replaced in the lineup by Rajai Davis, who will play center field and slot directly into Naquin’s vacated ninth spot in the order. However, the remainder of the Indians lineup will stay intact as they face off against right-hander Mike Fiers on the road this evening.
Stack the Indians!
The Indians have let a lot of us down early this season with their cold bats.. I'm betting that doesn't happen today. The tribe have the highest projected total on the slate against a pitcher in Chris Tillman who seems to be getting worse every start. Tillman is worse against righties but he is flat out bad against everyone, making every player in the Cleveland lineup a strong play. I really feel like this will be a 10 plus run outburst against Tillman and the Orioles pen so I am stacking the Indians every way I can think of and I suggest you do the same.
