You might be surprised to learn that since March 1st, Alex Radulov leads the league in goals with 12 in 15 games. He has put up 19 points in the same time frame and as the Dallas Stars ramp up for the playoffs, they are taking on a Chicago Blackhawks team that has nothing to play for and perhaps have checked out for the season. Radulov is playing alongside Tyler Seguin and Jason Dickinson on the Stars top line. Radulov and Seguin play on the top power play unit together which makes for a great mini-stack but having Dickinson as the other winger makes for a great salary saver.

Alexander Radulov is fresh off a hat trick and in a great matchup again tonight. Chicago has surrendered the most HDCA/60 over the past month (15.31). The whole line skates together at even strength and on the power-play giving them elite upside.

Radulov got into a bit of trouble this week as the Stars took a bold stance in sitting him down for a game after he was late for a team practice. This all comes on the heels of the team rising like the Phoenix over the last few months to contend for the last play-off spot in the Western Conference. By grabbing five goals and three assists over his last eight games he now has been credited with 20 goals and 34 assists in the 55 games he has suited up for. Three things are in Radulov’s favor tonight. the first being that he has been skating with Tyler Seguin on the team’s top 5x5 line and top power play unit. Secondly, the Blackhawks have given up 43 goals over their last nine games which, as you can see, is well over four goals a game. Last but not least, home ice will be to Radulov’s advantage as he and Seguin should get all the best match-ups to give Dallas the edge to win the game this evening.

It is Alexander Radulov — not Jamie Benn or Tyler Seguin — that leads the Dallas Stars in points per game and is the only player on the roster that is scoring at more than a point per game with 41 points in 39 games. The Stars have broken up their stacked top line with Radulov and Seguin being joined by Mattias Janmark. Janmark had 19 goals last season but has struggled mightily this season with just 3 goals in 49 games. This line is a great spot to bounce back for him playing with Radulov and Seguin.

Tyler Seguin has picked up the pace in the goal department as of late with six goals in his last four games and a total of eight points. The Dallas Stars are rolling with their stacked top line with Seguin centering Jamie Benn and Alex Radulov as the Stars visit Philadelphia to take on the Flyers. This line always makes for an elite play because the trio play together on the top power play unit and the Dallas PP is ranked 9th in the NHL, converting on 22.1 percent of their opportunities. On the flip side, the Flyers penalty kill ranks 28th with just a 75.2 percent success rate.

Despite the criticism of Jamie Benn and Tyler Seguin, I'm sure many would have expected one of them to be the best offensive player on the Dallas Stars. However, it is Alexander Radulov that leads the team in points per game with 34 points in 31 games — good for a 1.10 points per game average. Benn is out tonight, so Radulov and Seguin will be joined by Valeri Nichushkin on the top line as they host the Washington Capitals. The Caps are on the tail-end of a back to back as they lost to the St. Louis Blues last night. The Stars will get a tired Caps team allowing 62.94 CA/60 over the last three weeks, playing in front of Pheonix Copley, who hasn't been great.

The Dallas Stars will host the Detroit Red Wings tonight. The Star’s top line has disappointed us a few times so far this year, but I will be going back to the well again tonight. When Tyler Seguin, Jamie Benn, and Alexander Radulov are on the same line, we know they have massive upside with great chemistry and play making ability. The Star’s CEO also said the team needs more out of Benn and Seguin, so there’s a bit of a squeaky wheel narrative also. Detroit is giving up the fifth most HDCA/60 at 12 per game and their CA/60 is 59.29. The Star’s top line should have plenty of chances and offensive zone-time to get the team back on track tonight. Defenseman John Klingberg is the power-play quarterback you want to stack up with this trio.

The Dallas Stars are in an elite spot as they host the Chicago Blackhawks this evening. Chicago has been a disaster this season and losing their starting goaltender Corey Crawford to another concussion only makes matters worse. Cam Ward is expected in net tonight and he's been a disaster with a 3.95 GAA and .888 SV%. The top line for the Dallas Stars with Jamie Benn, Tyler Seguin and Alexander Radulov has been solid though not quite as elite as they have been. Radulov leads the way in the points per game aspect with 26 points in 24 games, while Seguin has 31 in 34 games and Benn with 27 in 34 games. The trio also all play on the top power play unit together which gives them elite upside against the league-worst penalty kill that has just a 72.4 percent success rate.

Although Dallas stacks their top line more often than not with Tyler Seguin, Jamie Benn and Alexander Radulov, they are still a top play whenever it occurs due to their elite talent. Seguin is an especially great play because his shot volume is insane which gives him an incredibly high floor as he averages 4.28 shots per game. The Stars are hosting the San Jose Sharks, a team that has struggled as of late and allowed 59.1 CA/60 which is the 8th-worst mark in the NHL over the last three weeks.

After a lengthy road trip, the Stars return home to face the Oilers tonight. The top line of Tyler Seguin, Alexander Radulov, and Jamie Been has been dominant at home, especially Radulov and Seguin. Seguin is averaging 5.9 DK points per game at home compared to 3.6 on the road. Radulov has similar splits with 6.4 and 4.3 respectively. As of this writing, it looks like Radulov might be dropped to the second line, but this trio will still see time together on the deadly number one power play unit. Jason Spezza looks to be in line to join the first line at even strength.
