Will Fuller Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections

MIA WR Will Fuller (finger) to be placed on IR

Will Fuller, who broke his finger last Sunday, will be placed on the IR meaning he will be forced to miss at least the next three games for the Dolphins. In his absence expect Albert Wilson to take over the WR3 role behind DeVante Parker and Jaylen Waddle with Preston Williams also slated to see more opportunities due to the departure of Jakeem Grant. The Dolphins draw an interesting matchup with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Sunday in which they should be playing from behind so expect Waddle and Parker to see a significant amount of targets against a shaky pass defense.

MIA WR Will Fuller (chest, elbow) returns to practice Thursday

Will Fuller has returned to practice Thursday after missing Wednesday with chest and elbow injuries. This likely means he will be available to play Sunday when the Dolphins take on the Indianapolis Colts. Fuller should slot in as WR3 behind Jaylen Waddle and DeVante Parker.

MIA WR Will Fuller misses practice Wednesday due to undisclosed injury

Fuller missed week 2 due to a personal issue, but was able to play in week three. Now he's been unable to practice due to a new chest/elbow injury. His status will become more clear later in the week, but it's always worrisome for Fuller, who's certainly dealt with nagging injuries throughout his career.

MIA WR Will Fuller (personal) ruled out Sunday

A major shocker, Fuller was ruled out due to a personal issue, and it's possible that his return to the team is in question. Coach Flores mentioned that he wanted to keep everything private to respect Fuller, but it seems like there is something serious in his life. The Dolphins WR room will still be crowded; DeVante Parker and Jaylen Waddle will continue to be the top options, while Preston Williams is slated to make his return from a knee injury that cost him week 1. Fuller's status may now be a weekly thing to monitor, but Parker and Waddle should benefit by their increased certainty of snaps and targets.

Will Fuller 2021 Fantasy Outlook

Per RotoGrinders NFL player projections, Will Fuller is expected to be the fantasy WR53. He's being drafted on Underdog Fantasy as WR41 at pick 81, compared to his RotoGrinders ranking of 111 as of July. We currently expect a 17% target share which amounts to a projection of 100 targets (Rank 51) and 751 receiving yards (Rank 54) during the 17 week fantasy season.

He's suspended for Week 1 which has an impact on his overall projection, but week to week he could still be useful for your fantasy team. The problem lies in that the Dolphins have both Devante Parker and Jaylen Waddle hanging around to complicate his target share situation. In addition, we're still at a point where Tua Tagovailoa has a lot to prove and there are no guarantees he lives up to the hype. We're also assuming Fuller is the same guy in the absence of the PEDs that caused his suspension. For now, I think you can still make quality fantasy teams without drafting Fuller. I'll go that route in most of my best ball drafts.

Will Fuller suspended six games for a PED violation

Fuller announced on his Instagram account that he's been suspended six games by the NFL for violating the league's performance-enhancing substances policies, effectively ending his 2020 season and possibly his career as a member of the Houston Texans organization as he's set to become an unrestricted free agent in the new calendar year. This is poor timing for the Texans' outlook on the offensive side of the ball since they just recently released Kenny Stills from the active roster and placed Randall Cobb on injured reserve, meaning he is still at least two weeks away from returning to the field. If Stills isn't resigned, Houston would be left with Brandin Cooks, Keke Coutee, and some combination of Steven Mitchell and Isaiah Coulter as the third wide receiver in three-wide sets, which could potentially force them into building their gameplan around more 1-2 personnel and allow Jordan Akins and one of the other depth tight ends to see increased opportunities in the passing game moving forward.

Texans WR Will Fuller (Groin) is Officially Active Today Vs. the Chiefs

Arguably the biggest injury news of the weekend has been clarified - Will Fuller is active today against the Chiefs. Fuller is seventh in the NFL with nine catches of 30+ yards, despite playing only 11 games this season. He will be chalky across the industry because of his cheap price tag and slate-breaking ability that we saw earlier in 2019 vs. the Falcons. We have Fuller projected for a 20% target share, while Kenny Stills, who will be relegated to the WR3 role, is projected for a 14% target share. It is notable that Keke Coutee is active, likely because of Fuller's risk of re-injury and the absence of the Texans' TE2, Jordan Akins. Fuller's performance vs. the Chiefs, who allowed the second-fewest points to receivers and were sixth in DVOA against the pass in 2019, could shape this weekend's divisional slate.

Kenny Stills (Knee), Will Fuller (Groin), Darren Fells (Hip), Jordan Akins (Hamstring) Questionable for Sunday

The Texans had an extensive injury report Friday, including two WRs and two TEs. Fuller in particular should be watched: there have been reports he is expected to play, but he has also frequently dealt with injuries in his career and was held out of the Texans' Wild Card win last weekend. Fells was a new addition to the report, appearing after being limited in practice Friday. The extent of his injury is not immediately clear.

Will Fuller (Groin) Game-Time Decision for Sunday

Fuller is considered a game-time decision for Sunday. His official status for Sunday will be released later today, and his availability may not be known until inactives are released.

Kenny Stills (Knee), Will Fuller (Groin), Jordan Akins (Hamstring) Limited in Practice Wednesday

Stills played last week and is expected to play again this week. Akins was out last week, and he would be the backup TE to Darren Fells if he can return. Fuller remains an unknown, as he has been out since Week 16. His return would be a significant boost for the Texans' offense.
