Finding Paydirt: 2019 Contest Guidelines

Touchdowns, while extremely variant, make or break daily fantasy success and swing thousands of dollars every Sunday. Every weekend, players wait anxiously for the players on their roster to find paydirt. The purpose of the contest is to provide an opportunity for the RotoGrinders community to come together and have fun as we spend much of our time during the week stressing over the construction of our weekly lineups. Did I mention there will be prizes? Let’s have some fun!

Rules

Very simple. Each week, I will publish Finding Paydirt on Friday morning — highlighting my favorite touchdown pick for the running back, wide receiver, and tight end position. To participate in the contest, you simply need to read the article and leave your three picks in the comments section. On Tuesday morning, I will publish a results article complete with a recap of the slate, leaderboard, and a few of my takeaways from the week.

Wait Joe, that’s it? Okay, I will take Saquon Barkley, Michael Thomas, and Travis Kelce. Every week… Forever. Not so fast, my friend.

Here’s the catch. Each week the contest will only take place for the DraftKings Main Slate. Hell, if DK is only going to feature the 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM games, why should I be any different? So, you will need to make your selections for games featured on the DraftKings Main Slate.

Alright, not too bad, I am sure I will still find plenty of studs to pick. You probably will. However, just to be sure that everyone doesn’t simply pick the three chalkiest studs available on the slate there is one more catch. Each week, the top five priced running backs and wide receivers as well as the top three priced tight ends will be eliminated from the player pool. So, no, you may not pick Ezekiel Elliott every week.

So, to sum up. Read the article every week. Leave your three picks from the DraftKings Main Slate in the comments section to participate in the contest. The top five priced running backs and wide receivers will be cut from the player pool with the top three priced tight ends.

I told you this would be easy!

Schedule

Every week, I will publish my picks for the week on Friday morning. On Tuesday morning, I will publish a results article for the previous week.

Prizes

So, what are we playing for? Just like my Home Run Derby article, I will be awarding prizes every four weeks while also keeping an overall leaderboard. Every four weeks, the top touchdown scorer will receive a RotoGrinders T-shirt. The final t-shirt will be awarded for the last five weeks.

The overall season prize will be awarded to the RotoGrinders member who collects the most touchdowns throughout the entire NFL regular season. For this accomplishment, the winner will receive three months of a RotoGrinders combo-premium membership to begin immediately following Week 17. The premium content will certainly prove useful as the DFS community transitions from NFL to NBA and PGA content.

Of course, you will also experience a great deal of fun as a reward for competing. I hope to fill the articles with whimsy and maybe stir up plenty of fun dialogue in the comments section.

Questions

If you have any questions regarding the contest guidelines or prizes or just want to drop me a line, you can find me in our Premium Discord as well as in the comments section for all of my articles. I would greatly appreciate a follow on Twitter. All of my articles, my nonsensical takes, various GIFs, and wrestling rants are tweeted out frequently. Good stuff, don’t be shy.

I look forward to a great NFL season. Thanks for reading and be sure to come back each week to participate!
