Happy Sunday, Grinders! It is about time to turn the calendar to the final month of the regular season, and there are only 2 more Sundays where DFS players will care about baseball before NFL season arrives. We have our normal Sunday main slate with a start time of 1:35 PM Eastern again today, with a 9-game main slate awaiting us on DraftKings. FanDuel is adding the HOU/NYM game to their slate, which gives us a 10-game slate over there.

We do need to keep an eye on the MLB weather front today, with both games in New York and the LAD/DET game featuring some element of weather concern. As usual, I am writing the article assuming every game is a full go, but we will need to keep an eye on this.

This looks to be a relatively balanced slate between pitching and offense, but it doesn’t look to be the most glamorous slate. Maybe we can uncover some more excitement as we delve through it. Let’s get started!

Sunday Pitching: MLB DFS Picks on DraftKings and FanDuel

• Tyler Glasnow at Tigers
• Braxton Ashcraft at Cardinals
• Logan Gilbert at Blue Jays
• Parker Messick vs. Royals

This isn’t the most dominant group we have ever seen at the top of a DFS board, but it’s what we have today. As usual, I will begin with a peek at the 2026 data:

Glasnow – 3.02 ERA, 2.76 xFIP, 33.1% K, 7.7% BB (45 innings)
Ashcraft – 3.59 ERA, 3.19 xFIP, 25.8% K, 5.5% BB
Gilbert – 3.36 ERA, 3.57 xFIP, 26.3% K, 6.3% BB
Messick – 2.50 ERA, 3.34 xFIP, 25.5% K, 6.7% BB

If you are looking for ceiling potential on this Sunday, Tyler Glasnow is really the only pitcher who can provide it. He is yet another Dodgers pitcher ramping up his activity as we get to the final month of the season, and Glasnow did throw 89 pitches in his return from the injured list 5 days ago. While he didn’t have an elite start from a results perspective, much of that was attributable to BABIP luck. He had 7 strikeouts and 0 walks in 5 innings, and today offers a solid matchup against a currently weak Tigers lineup. I expect Glasnow to be back to form today, and he is my SP1.

The other pitchers in this tier are all very similar. All have xFIP marks between 3.15 and 3.60. All have strikeout rates between 25% and 27%. All have walk rates between 5% and 7%. The one pitcher I am concerned about is Logan Gilbert. He has posted less than a strikeout per inning over his last 6 starts, his stuff hasn’t looked quite as sharp, and the opposing Blue Jays aren’t a high-strikeout matchup. It’s a solid spot for run prevention, but I don’t see Gilbert as an upside play this afternoon.

My next pick in this tier will be Parker Messick. It feels like he is generally underappreciated as a pitcher, and the Royals are not a strong offense against left-handed pitching. The Guardians could also use some depth out of Messick today given that their bullpen imploded late in yesterday’s game, and Messick won’t carry a ton of ownership given that he doesn’t exactly come at a large discount from Glasnow on either FD or DK. Given that context, I will include Messick in my tournament pool for sure. Braxton Ashcraft also fits that mold in a decent matchup against the fading Cardinals, so I will keep him in my pool as well.

In short, I am ranking this tier as Glasnow > Messick > Ashcraft > Gilbert today, but all of them are relatively safe options. Glasnow clearly has the edge in terms of ceiling. I also don’t mind skipping this group entirely if you decide you prefer to spend up for offense.
