NHL DFS Picks: Slate Summary for Monday, April 1st
Slate Overview
Today will be my last ever Slate Summary as I’ll be starting my own content site. I’ve been considering it for a while, but it feels like the right time to do so. I’ve enjoyed being a part of this RG community for more than a decade and can’t thank everyone enough for the opportunity.
My new site will be called “ImNot****ingLeaving.com” and just has the Leonardo DiCaprio clip from Wolf of Wall Street playing over and over again. April Fools is the absolute worst, and I hate myself for even wasting 30 seconds of your time on that bit.
Honestly, Saturday night was just about enough to make me want to retire, as it was seemingly whiff after whiff to cap off an otherwise excellent week of content. As Eric Matthews said on Boy Meets World, “life’s tough, get a helmet.”
We have a surprisingly solid 8-game slate, and the stars are out in full force. MacKinnon, Matthews, McDavid, and Kucherov are all in action. Obviously, they are priced up, so you’ll have to figure out who to prioritize tonight. Vegas (and most likely our projections) are going to point you to Nathan MacKinnon and the Avalanche due to the matchup. That should leave everyone else slightly under-owned.
Top Skaters
Nathan MacKinnon
DraftKings $10,500
Unless you’re completely new to this article and NHL DFS in general, you’re aware of how good Nathan MacKinnon has been this season. His most recent performance against the previously white-hot Predators was a glimpse into what he is capable of. He finished with 2 goals, 2 assists, and 5 shots on goal, good for a tidy 40+ DK points. Tonight, he’ll have a juicy matchup against one of the worst defensive teams in the NHL, the Blue Jackets. A multi-point game with 5+ SOG feels like it’s almost his floor for tonight.
