Slate Overview

Happy Sunday Grinders! We get the rare Sunday slate where there are enough games to have Slate Summary Article. There are seven games to break down. Keep in mind the main slate starts one hour earlier than usual. Yesterday was a little bit tilting. The Panthers went absolutely nuts, but it wasn’t the player and line that I was hoping. Matthew Tkachuk was a disappointment, while Carter Verhaeghe completely stole the show with four goals and eight shots on goal to end with 55 DraftKings points. The Oilers were their typical dominant self, with Leon Draisaitl going for 50 DraftKings points. It was a losing day for me, as I didn’t have the right Panthers and Oilers in my single entry team. Let’s move on to this much shorter slate and hope we can find the plays today that can win us a GPP to close out the regular season.

Of the fourteen teams playing on this slate, there are ten teams playing their second game in two nights. Today is more important than ever to be paying attention to Discord, especially regarding goalies. Some teams might be pushing their goalies to play back to backs more often to try and gain ground in the playoff push. The Toronto Maple Leafs and the Calgary Flames are the two teams with totals over 4 goals. Toronto, and especially Auston Matthews, are going to stand out as the top plays today. They easily have the highest raw point projection if considering the top line or the top power play unit. Now to discuss the Calgary Flames, I had this team essentially left for dead and now they are only two points behind the Jets for the last wildcard spot in the Western Conference. Now they get to face a Ducks team who are playing their second game in two nights after getting slaughtered by the Oilers last night. If you are an MME player, then I would highly recommend exposure to all of their top 3 lines. Don’t forget about MacKenzie Weegar, who is playing well over 20 minutes a night and should be in line for a big game.
