OwnersBox MLB DFS Format
What is up, Grinders? We are here to talk about OwnersBox. This site is very creative for MLB, as it has given us what we’ve been craving for what feels like an eternity. We are getting incredible flexibility for all positions. It consists of a pitcher spot, 4 infield positions, 4 outfield positions, and a Superflex, which will allow you to play any position including pitching. How many days have you wanted to play 5 first-basemen because of how deep the position is? OwnersBox is here to give you that fix and allow very creative lineup building. This is revolutionary for the DFS enthusiast, and I am here to talk through a handful of plays each week that I hope carry us to the finish line.
Top MLB DFS Picks for Wednesday, May 8th
Chris Sale – ($9,900)
I think Sale will be the highest-scoring pitcher on the slate, and he’s expensive, but he is not overpriced. Sale has flashed a 29% K rate this season, and the bulk of that is coming against righties. The big tidbit that stands out to me is this projected lineup for Boston has struck out at an extremely high clip against LHP. I think the strikeouts are already baked into this matchup for Sale, and if BABIP is on his side and he can clear 6 innings, he should be able to put up a monster score. I love him as the top pitching option tonight. He’s not sneaking up on anyone, but I still think we need to play him.
Jeremy Pena – ($3,800)
I love this Houston Astros team tonight, and I’m hoping they don’t disappoint me. Pena is one of my favorite bats here, as I think people could key in on the main guys and miss out on a cheaper bat in an equally good spot. He’s got a really low K rate against LHP this season (13.2%) and is flashing some nice power (.216 ISO). Carlos Rodon has had his overall struggles with righties this season and is not the feared strikeout pitcher he once was. I love Pena to have a nice game tonight and hopefully carry us to the top of the leaderboards.
Isaac Paredes – ($4,300)
I think this could be a big spot for Paredes. Chris Flexen is nothing to be afraid of and has an extremely low K rate. Paredes has the big power numbers and low K rate to support a possible huge performance at the plate. If he can get a few of his comrades to get on the basepaths ahead of his at-bats, then I think he drives them home. I’m not afraid of Flexen, and neither is Paredes. Let’s ride this potentially big performance to the money.
I think we have the perfect blend of a spend-up pitcher and a few batting options at different salary levels. Let’s take down this GPP tonight, Grinders!
