OwnersBox NBA DFS Format

What is up, Grinders! We are here to talk about OwnersBox! This site is very creative for the NBA, as it has given us what we’ve been craving for what feels like an eternity. We are getting incredible flexibility for all positions. It consists of 4 guard positions, 4 frontcourt positions, and a superflex. How many days have you wanted to play 5 centers because of the value but have only been limited to 2? OwnersBox is here to give you that fix and allow very creative lineup building. This is revolutionary for the DFS enthusiast, and I am here to talk through a handful of plays each week that I hope carry us to the finish line.

Top NBA DFS Picks for February 14, 2024

Amen Thompson ($4,800)

Amen Thompson is just too cheap on OwnersBox tonight. His coaching staff is giving him all the minutes he can handle, with Fred Van Vleet continuing to not suit up. Along with the minutes, we are seeing increased production. While Memphis isn’t at the bottom of the barrel in terms of defensive efficiency, the Rockets are a much better basketball team as presently constructed. Thompson has gone over 30 fantasy points in 3 of the last 5 games, and I anticipate we will see him eclipse that number again tonight. Fire him up with confidence at this price point today.

Kevin Durant ($7,600)

We will be back down to a Big 2 tonight with Bradley Beal sitting. This will open up a few more scoring opportunities for Mr. Durant tonight. My only concern is whether or not the Detroit Pistons can keep up. If they do, Durant should put together a really nice performance. With the main pieces suiting up, Durant has a 29.36% usage rate, but with Beal off the floor, this increases to 31.33%. While this is not an astronomical number on the surface, the void in scoring is very important. Detroit is awful defensively, and Durant very well could hit a nice ceiling in 3 quarters, but I’m hoping we get 4 so he can carry us to the top of the leaderboards.

D’Angelo Russell ($5,500)

We already know that Lebron James will be taking a break tonight, and that is going to open up some extra production for several players. One of those players is Mr. Russell. He has been performing admirably even with Lebron on the floor recently, and his scoring has been a welcomed sight for the Lakers. They will need this to continue tonight with Lebron out of the lineup, and I think we see just that. What I love most is the shot attempts. He’s been taking close to 20 each game, and I don’t think we’ll see a drop-off versus the Jazz. I could sell you on usage, fantasy points per minute, and a whole lot of other deep dives, but the reality is he has all the opportunity in the world tonight and will be a primary scoring option for most of this game.

Closing Thoughts

We have a fair amount of really good point-per-dollar plays tonight. We need to be taking advantage of this while we can. The pricing will adjust at some point, but until it does, let’s continue to fire away at the best plays. Good luck Grinders!
