It’s finally September, which means baseball starts taking a backseat to the beginning of the NFL season. That’s especially the case tonight, as a rare Friday night game between the Packers vs. Eagles is likely to soak up viewership. However, the MLB isn’t shying away, with 14 games spread throughout the evening and a plethora of strong Underdog Fantasy predictions to choose from.

First, I’ll break down my favorite Underdog Fantasy MLB plays of the day; then, you can find a few more suggestions (pick only) at the bottom. You can also check out our Underdog Fantasy picks tool. Let’s get to it!

Top Underdog Fantasy MLB Picks Today

Rafael Devers – Higher Than 1.5 Total Bases

The Boston Red Sox have the highest implied team total of the night, facing Davis Martin and the Chicago White Sox. Although Martin has been solid against lefties this year, racking up a 56% ground ball rate to batters on the left side of the plate. However, the Red Sox lineup is filled with fly ball hitters who hit the ball really, really hard. Rafael Devers is the best of the bunch, and while my first look was Jarren Duran, Devers has a better payout on Underdog Fantasy to have higher than 1.5 total bases.

Mookie Betts – Higher Than 1.5 Total Bases

Betts has consistently gone under the radar since his return from injury, but he hasn’t missed a beat and looks like his old self. He’s one of the best hitters in baseball and tonight draws a matchup against Matthew Boyd, whose best days are behind him. Betts projects for 2.18 total bases tonight in the RotoGrinders projections, and the Dodgers have one of the higher implied team totals on the board.

Wyatt Langford – Higher Than 1.5 Total Bases

The Rangers get a matchup against Samuel Aldegheri, who hasn’t been able to get anyone out in his limited time in the big leagues. Although Texas is currently banged up and missing Corey Seager, this allows for Wyatt Langford to bat higher up in the lineup. He has crushed lefties this season, with a .244 ISO, and tonight he projects for 1.74 total bases in the RotoGrinders projections.
