Over the summer, NFL fans and bettors circled this game as a must-see contest midway through the NFL season. A matchup between two of the NFC’s powerhouses awaits, right? Well, this might be the case, but the Dallas Cowboys and San Francisco 49ers have underwhelmed in 2024. While injuries might be the cause, both teams look to begin a run toward the postseason.

Check out our Same Game Parlay Guide before we break down tonight’s game and build a same game parlay for Sunday Night Football.

Cowboys vs. 49ers Same Game Parlay Preview

DraftKings Sportsbook offers the 49ers as large home favorites; posting the reigning NFC champions as 6-point favorites. The game total is considerably robust at 48 points despite struggles on both sides. Clearly, scoring is anticipated for Sunday Night Football.

ScoresAndOdds reports that the betting action on both sides of the spread was split throughout the week. As such, the spread jumped to 6 quickly, but action on the Dallas side has frozen the line at 6 points. More than 70% of betting action — tickets and money — like the over. Opening at 46.5 points, the number climbed a full point and a half by Sunday morning.

Micah Parsons and DaRon Bland remain out for a beleaguered Dallas defense. Linebacker Eric Kendricks is questionable. The defense is banged up and could struggle again against an efficient San Francisco offense. Dallas ranks 24th in yards per play on defense and 27th in yards per pass attempt (7.5). The defense improved a bit against the run but still ranks middle of the pack. Given the San Francisco injury concerns, Kyle Shanahan might test the defense out with Jordan Mason.

Deebo Samuel and George Kittle are banged up but expected to play. Jauan Jennings will not be in the lineup to help fill the shoes of Brandon Aiyuk. Christian McCaffrey is believed to be nearly ready to return and could make his first start after the Week 9 bye against Tampa Bay in Week 10. Mason might be given all the carries he can handle against Dallas, as he will return to a reserve role when McCaffrey returns.

Despite a 3-4 record and struggles, the 49ers rank 3rd in yards per play on offense. Even with missing pieces, they continue to churn out yardage and move the ball down the field. The difference? The defense.

The 49ers rank 17th in yards per play on defense. We are not accustomed to San Francisco struggling to stop opposing offenses. They rank middle of the pack in sack percentage and have allowed 6.5 yards per pass attempt. The good news for San Francisco is the Cowboys are completely one-dimensional. Dallas ranks dead last with 3.5 yards per rush attempt in 2024.

At some point, CeeDee Lamb and Dak Prescott need to get back on track. In games where Dallas has been blown out, Lamb hasn’t even seen a full 4 quarters. While the spread and their recent loss to Detroit brings that into play, the only way Dallas can keep pace with San Francisco is if Lamb is involved early and often.

Let’s comb through some props and build a same game parlay for Sunday Night Football.

Same Game Parlay Picks for Cowboys vs. 49ers

Jordan Mason Over 79.5 Rushing Yards

The Dallas defense is on the struggle bus. The injuries have kept all of the playmakers at bay for Dallas, and the interior defense has been especially weakened.

While their rushing defense is slowly improving, Dallas was devastated by Detroit for 184 yards on the ground. The San Francisco 49ers feature one of the most creative one-cut rushing attacks in the NFL, and Jordan Mason continues to shine. With his time as the starter likely coming to an end, Kyle Shanahan will have no reason not to wear the tires out on his running back on Sunday night.

If the 49ers get a lead, Mason is going to be fed throughout the night. We are going to stick with that game script.

CeeDee Lamb Over 6.5 Receptions

I cannot quit you CeeDee. Lucy moving the football again on a Sunday night. Call me Charlie Brown.

Dallas needs to be alive in this game for this prop to hit. The last time Dallas struggled and Lamb was not active in the box score, the Cowboys opened the following game by peppering him. With no semblance of a running game, Dallas needs to get the ball in Lamb’s hands to upset the 49ers.

Even in the blowout versus the Lions, Lamb saw 14 targets. He has not started a game and seen less than 7 targets in 2024. For Dallas to keep pace, Lamb needs double-digit targets.

George Kittle Over 4.5 Receptions

Narrative street! On National Tight Ends Day, George Kittle will be active against the Cowboys. The 49ers’ offense features plenty of targets to go around without Brandon Aiyuk, Jauan Jennings, and Christian McCaffrey present to catch passes from Brock Purdy.

Kittle hasn’t seen less than 4 targets this season and has seen a bump over the last few weeks. He had 12, 6, and 7 targets during that span and exceeded 5 catches in each game. While he is a bit hurt, Kittle will need to thrive on his national holiday.

We close with the Kittle over and hope the game stays close.
