Happy Friday! We have a big 12-game slate with a tremendous amount of high-end offense to love. The highlight is the Mets heading into Coors Field, but there is similar upside all over this slate. We also have one of the best pitchers in the league if you prefer to spend your salary on the arms, so there are a lot of ways to build. I’ll do my best to narrow things down on both sides, but this is a slate where you can go a ton of different directions.

We have one major MLB weather risk, with the ARI/CIN game starting the day at Orange. I’m including that game in the analysis, but we’ll need a later update before locking any of those players into lineups.

Friday Pitching: MLB DFS Picks on FanDuel & DraftKings

Skubal of the Tigers

This is a slate with just a few top-end pitchers, then a kind of messy mid-tier, and then one or two cheap options worth considering. I’ll mention quite a few names here, but overall, I’m going to be much more narrowed down on the pitching side tonight.

TOP TIER QUARTET

Well this is tricky! Tarik Skubal is far and away the best pitcher on this slate, if not every slate. But he’s also $11,500 on DK and $11,000 on FD facing the Cubs. The facing the Cubs part doesn’t really bother me – he’s as matchup-proof as they come – but I’m also going to say it’s not as likely that he has one of the ceiling games that you need once you get up to this salary range. For me, this is all going to come down to whether or not we find a cheap SP2 to like on DK. Skubal is very much the SP1 – I just can’t tell you how much of him I’m going to play until we get down to the cheap stuff. Let’s see what happens.

Spencer Schwellenbach has been real-life great outside of 2 starts, and in back-to-back games, his strikeouts have roared back as well.
